In an ideal world, I'd want him managing us.

After him: Benitez, Queiroz, Lagerbäck, Lennon, Moyes.

This might just be me because people seem to rate him but tactically he’s just Tony Mowbray for me. His career genuinely confuses me.

This whole scenario is going to turn into an absolute *,guranteed.
We never do anything the easy way and always * about.

After signing the rat,the board have opened up a can of worms in terms of getting high end names like this in from now on,they must push the boat out just like 3 years ago and go for a pedigree.

I love lenny,he bleeds the club,he is a legend, that will never change i just dont want it to be him just incase it goes pearshaped and it falls on him, wouldnt be fair on him.

    * Rodgers and his tactics. Winning every single domestic trophy and losing once in 13 games against the Huns was becoming a real pain in the *. I've never been more depressed than when I saw that double treble bus going down the street celebrating his * tactics.

    What about European results, though?

Give me complete domestic dominance, regular pumpings of the Huns at Parkhead, Hampden and Ibrox over a one off result over Barcelona (followed by a 6-1 pumping) any day of the week.

Mere Qualification is an achievement for us, failure to compromise when getting there was unacceptable..

Which is a reasonable way to judge things, while remembering it's not his squad and the internal chaos when he took over.

Some in our support aren't even offering that opportunity. He could win every game 5-0 for the rest of the season and his face still wouldn't fit for some. I've heard everything from "he drinks too much", "he's too abrasive", "he's too old school", "he doesn't wear a suit on the touchline" and on here lines that Dave King would be proud of "he only won the league because there were no Huns/they were docked points in 2012"

I'm all for different opinions and perspectives. This forum and the bus/pub before and after games would be boring as * if we all agreed on everything; but there's a chunk of our support that have a real petulant streak and nauseating sense of entitlement sometimes. Some gauge the minimum expectation now as a Treble and I can only imagine the hysteria should we not manage to do it this season.

We didn’t open a can of worms, we showed ambition, ambition that’s been lacking in pervious managerial appointments. We need to keep showing ambition, Lenny wouldn’t reflect that..

If Lenny does get the job and he didn’t get the 10, it would absolutely fall on him that’s the nature of the job.

Leone would rather see us play 10 defensive mids and kill the life out of a game, as opposed to attack and excite.

    Aye definitely mate..

When Lenny got the job, results were the main thing and he’s achieved that. But, for me it wasn’t dependent on winning or losing the treble, securing the league was a must. But after that it was what kind of reaction he could get from the players and how he set up and changed things... not seen enough in that respect.

Regardless of what happens we should have a recruitment process, and if Lenny wins the Treble and performances improve then he will be in a good position in that process.

He took over an injury hit squad who for nearly 3 years had played the same style of football. Coming into this environment with the expectation of securing results will make this season difficult for him. Steadying the ship and securing silverware is an achievement in itself.

I can understand that but I still think there's mitigating factors that aren't being taken into account.

We've been injury ravaged and we have a bloated squad full of disinterested players that have been effectively cruising in 2nd gear for the best part of 18 months. Guys like Sinclair, Ntcham and Boyata were turning in humming performances long before Lennon came through the door.

We've seen flat performances littered throughout the last few seasons. The truth is some players don't want to be here and/or are giving us the bare minimum to get by.

Also Weah, Burke and Toljan are just fresh into the squad having played little football all season, yet expected to integrate into the team and hit the ground running.

The circumstances that Lennon has volunteered to enter into are almost unprecedented in football. A winning side still in all domestic competitions at the business end of the season, contending with all of the above.

Some think it's a game of Champ Man were you stoat in with the best team on paper and win everything. That's not reality.

Regardless of whether Lennon wins the treble, or gets the job next season, he has earned a huge amount of respect for coming in almost immediately and leading the team for the rest of the season.

    He's a legend! :notworthy

It is to an extent, but for someone who knows the place inside out, the performances and tactics have been underwhelming..

Aye I don’t disagree, but after each passing game I want him less in the longterm.
