Benitez probably wants to manage in Scotland even less than Clarke. Even if Newcastle sack him he would get a job with some bunch of * like Fulham or Southampton. He also doesn't need to come here to get medals won 1 uefa Cup, 1 europa league and a champions league.

I think we will get in a fairly high profile foreigner manager in, not from the PL.
Somebody with Europa League experience and has a CV showing European results.
    Marco Rose would be perfect.

In all seriousness it will be Lennon unless we hit some awful form, which we won’t.

Benitez is never coming to Scotland. He would be able to go back to a top job in Spain if he leaves Newcastle. Or just stay in the £pl.

Clarke.. no thanks. He’s done brilliant at Kilmarnock, but I would be gutted if we brought him in. Lennon is better than he is!

We have the man we need already! All hail Neil Lennon!

My biggest concern with Lenny is fitness. Rodgers has brought us to a whole new level and I think with someone like Ranieri with his technical nous and work rate then we would be better off.

Lennon isn't better than Clarke in my opinion. Hibs are far bigger than Killie and how did both teams fair out in the SPL??
If Clarke was over Hibs he probably would be top or 2nd place.

1 Dunno and neither do you as it hasn't finished yet and they are only 5 points ahead of them.

2 You genuinely think if Clarke was managing Hibs they would be above us in the league :56::56:

    Buckie ar la indeed

If Lenny and the players bond and win the league then it has to be Lenny!

He has an amazing talent pool from middle to front.

The summer only needs a new right back 2 centre backs and a back up left back.

There will be around 11-14 departures for various reasons.

Shevd looks the bollocks and he will compete with jimmy.

I don’t see any of our Scottish players moving to Leicester as they from what people have said are rightly * * right off Rodgers didn’t even meet/text/call them to say goodbye!

If it's true that we gave Brendan 65k a week then we genuinely can attract some top, top gaffers.

I hope we look outside of the UK, just because Ronny was a failure we should continue the foreign coach route. Someone who knows how to set up tactically for Europe and can scout well. Essentially a foreign, more experienced Lenny is what we need.

Agree with you to an extent but Lenny has been coaching since 2008. Manager since 2010. Knows the club inside out. Got to think who can unite the players! Last thing you want is another Ronny or Mowbray maybe better the Tim you know!

I am being harsh on Lennon, I think he's a good manager and was a bit under appreciated in his 1st spell. Signed some absolute belters for * all and was 30 seconds away from 4 points off Barca, plus 2 very easily navigated qualifying campaigns.

However I generally disagree with players/managers returning to clubs and I think we can get better. We showed financial ambition to get Rodgers but it was uninspired really as it just ticked the usual Scottish/Irish, catholic background manager boxes and he was out of work and unregarded. This time i'd love a real ambitious move for a strong European coach. May not know all of our history but that can be learned and competence is more important than passion.

As much as I don't think the likes of benitez would come to us I think we should still be asking what they'd want as a wage and transfer budget, Rodgers proved we're willing to pay for a top drawer manager.

If Lennon does keeps the team on course for the next couple of months he'll get the job, as underwhelming as that may be to some. He has said several times that the style of play won't be changing, and you'd hope that extends to the training and general standards around the club. Hopefully Kennedy & co have filled him in on that.

What is clear is that we need a lot of work putting into recruitment both on and off the field so we're ready for next season. We've had a large part of the backroom team ripped out, and it's clear that the recruitment team needs a bit of a rethink.

On the playing side De Vries, Toljan, Benkovic, Izaguirre, Gamboa, Boyata, Lustig, Allan, Burke & Weah are all out of contract at the end of the season. How many of them are likely to be reporting to Lennoxtown for pre-season training?

Would leave us with a squad looking something like this:

Gordon, Bain, Hazard, Hendry, Simunovic, Compper, Ajer, Ralston, Perez, Gutman, Miller, Tierney, Bitton, Brown, Christie, Rogic, McGregor, Ntcham, Kouassi, Mulumbu, Henderson, Forrest, Hayes, Sinclair, Arzani, Shved, Morgan, Johnston, Edouard, Griffiths, Bayo.

The trophies Rodgers provided in his time was incredible, but the squad he leaves us with is his 'legacy' too. Some good players, a lot of much-improved players, some decent prospects, a few unknowns and probably a few duds.

Whoever the new manager is, they need to focus on recruiting defender very quickly. The midfield is quite good, especially if you can get Rogic and Ntcham fit and ready for the start of the season. We have decent options in forward areas as well. If we can get Burke and/or Weah back on loan, plus get Griffiths healthy again, we're looking at a really good attacking side.

It shouldn’t be Lennon but whoever it is needs telt they’re getting rid of all the deadwood and we’re blooding the youth.

    Johnston
    Ralston
    Henderson
    McInroy
    Oko-Flex
    Dembele
    Church

They should all be getting minutes and runs in the team to develop.
