Aye it's been severely lacking. Its annoying because I dont think you can say you're not changing the style but ask for ball after ball into the box.

Is Kennedy that good? He has more influence than ever, and the football has been poor.

If Lenny was still manager at Hibs, would the Board have approached Hibs for his services this summer ?

Aye, but I think Duff naturally drops back down to develop his coaching in the reserves if we bring back Lenny, Johan and Parker. Leaves Kennedy there as well to fit in, and Lenny does like Kennedy.

We’ve said this before I’m sure but looking at Johan and Majstorivic out before every game and halftime with Wanyama, working on his aerial ability and coaching him through things... You seen the progress happen extremely quickly.

Depends on how well he was doing, if he turned it around, was playing the football he played the majority of his time there, was still as much a pain in our * playing them then I think they would have.

Yip, as said countless times, saw that with my own eyes as they used to warm him up pretty much in my corner. This was obviously when the plan was to develop Wanyama as a CB, then....obviously....injuries (I'm sure) led to him being deployed in CM, and the rest was history.

Dunno what to make of Duff really as I don't know what his "speciality" is within the coaching set up. Same with Kennedy actually now that I think about it.

Is wee Danny McGrain still a part of the coaching set up? I know he basically begged "Mr. Rodgers" for his job (Aye right :87:)

The second biggest reason we are in such good financial health is these 'projects'. Ineffective :56:

I don't think Lenny's name would even be in the conversation tbh mate.

Personally mate, I'd like to think we set a precedence with the hiring of "The Snake" and his contract extension afterwards.

The fact that we also have £9m+ in our back pocket from their moves to Leicester makes me think nothing other than offering Lennon the job is both short term-ism, and sheer penny pinching.

Financial health? Only Lawwell cares about the bank account. The European performances of the club have been rotten for years.

I think that was an outlier rather than what is the norm mate. We all said when he was with us there’s zero chance of us getting a manager of Rodgers stature without some previous link to the club.

Now everybody seems to be expecting that. I can’t see it tbh.

Not that that's a true statement, but it's hardly a stick to beat Lawwell with, considering that it's probably the main remit of his job :97:

It was good business sense all round, success on the park and financial gain.

The Board know the value of gettin a high calibre manager in place, and the rewards it can bring.

No disrespect tae Lenny, but i'd be very surprised if he get's the job.

See this is what kind of annoys me about that rat, his stature/reputation, when he signed for us wasn't that high. He came across as a tube in his last couple of years at Liverpool and his blatant bullshittery and lies about the transfer committee and the David Brent tag his own * players gave him after that documentary..... he wasn't that much of a coup.
It's like we signed Messi the way some go on.

It was a good start mate.

Aye, obviously the fact that Rodgers (claimed) his affinity to the club, but he was also an out-of-work coach who would be able to use the club as a platform to "better" things dependant on his performance.

The money was made available to get him in the door, and the money was made available to extend his contract with I'm sure better terms and conditions. His contract was to run for a further two seasons, so assume that money is still available.

And that's not including the millions made from his and his cohorts' compensation package - so, without a shadow of a doubt, the money IS there to at least offer it to a similar calibre of manager, there or there abouts.

The only way I will be happy with the return of Lennon as permanent manager, wouldn't be on the usual rolling one year contract, and only with SOUND financial backing to secure this * 10IAR.

Not beyond the realms of possibility to secure 5-6 players with an outlay of about £20-25m, including wages - also accounting into wages that will be "saved" if you want to call it that on players who's contracts are expiring, added in with the huge sums of money we have made in recent seasons on player sales.

I've had enough of the short changing, even if I can understand it somewhat (at times).

    That's my point entirely.

We went out and actually paid the going rate for a TOP manager (for our position), and the rewards paid just.

A double treble, higher calibre of fitba (for decent periods), domestic dominance, back-to-back CL group stage qualification, full stadiums, merchandise sales etc etc.
