What a special night in honour of such a special team and such special men. Spent half the night with goosebumps and the other half bubbling up.

As a few before have said; I thought Fergie was fantastic. His love of the game and admiration of Jock and the Lions shone through in every word he spoke.

In all fairness to Sir Alex, he always seems to have a good word to say about us

It was down to Fergie that we were received well down in Manchester for friendlies. Also the reason why so many of his team had a big liking for the Hoops. Giggs, Scholes, Nevilles, Beckham and big Rio loves the hoops. Fergie made them watch vids of Jinky and the Lions on the team bus. Massive respect for Fergie and what he achieved. Thanks to the mentoring by Jock.

Same mate had goose bumps the entire time. Rod Stewart's daughter singing Grace got me right in the feels. Had a proper lump in my throat, couldn't even sing.

I've always had huge respect for Ferguson, just a normal guy from Glasgow who became one of the greatest of all time.

Would highly recommend his autobiography, one of the best football books I've read.

He talks about the Lions and Jock in the book, from memory there's decent amount about Celtic throughout.

SAF had immense respect for Jock and his side, and despite the grumbles across the city every time he talks on the matter, he never shied away from giving credit where due.

BR on Celebrate '67 at the @TheSSEHydro last night: "It was absolutely brilliant."

BR: "All the performers and speakers were fantastic and of course the Celtic supporters turned up in their numbers."

BR: "A great night and a great tribute to the Lions, an enjoyable evening."

BR: "When you watch the scenes like last night and hear more stories of it all, the pride you continually have grows with you."

BR: "Very inspiring & the legends who were there, their stories inspire every coach & manager who comes through the doors at Celtic Park."

BR: "They are a huge inspiration and they were the pioneers for the great club Celtic is."

BRENDAN Rodgers has hailed Thursday night’s Celebrate ’67 spectacular at the SSE Hydro as a tremendous tribute to the Lisbon Lions.

Around 13,000 supporters packed into the venue to watch figures from the world of football, entertainment and music, including rock superstar Sir Rod Stewart, celebrate the incredible achievements of Jock Stein’s side, 50 years to the day of their European Cup triumph against Inter Milan.

The Irishman received a rapturous reception from the Hoops faithful when he took to the stage to speak about his memories of the Lions and their inspiring legacy, and he thoroughly enjoyed the extravaganza,

"It was absolutely brilliant,” the Celtic manager said. “All the performers and speakers were fantastic and, of course, the Celtic supporters turned up in their numbers. It was a great night and a great tribute to all the Lions who were there. It was a really enjoyable evening.

“When you watch the scenes like last night and hear more stories about it all, the pride you have here continually grows with you as a Celtic player and a Celtic coach. It’s very inspiring and the Lions who were there throughout the evening, their stories inspire everyone, every coach and manager who comes through the doors at Celtic Park.

"They are a huge inspiration and, like I've said, they were the pioneers for the great club that Celtic is. We just aim to hopefully make them proud in how we work and play.”
