CB or CF?

we have four! and sammy needs punted along with maybe killen!also there is talk that mogga doesnt want skippy aswell? so we do need to get another striker in defo along with another cb too.

 

Central Defender Please

We need a central defender quickly .If Caldwell leaves in Jan we may get some decent money for him .Maybe Coyle will take him to Burnley £3million???.

I heard that both Caldwell's got booted out from Newcastle years ago because they were crap.If 'our' Caldwell performed like last year then I would keep him.
But he is becoming too vocal and he is alienating the support ie he is working his ticket out of Celtic Park- plus he WILL BE bad for team moral too.

The press are loving it when he opens his mouth! I still think that our Midfield and Strikeforce will come up with the goods! The season is a marathon not a sprint! Hail Hail! We should all keep positive!:veryhappy::veryhappy::veryhappy:

 

Definately a prolific striker! If we had a prolific striker we would have beat Rangers the other day, we had enough chances!

 

Without a doubt a top quality commanding center back would be my priority. Our strikers may not be the greatest but we have more then enough goals in us to win the spl. It is getting things sealed up at the back that is our biggest priority for me. Teams that win titles either have the best or close to the best defense in the league.

 

CB. We score enough to win games, but concede too much.

 

Striker for me. I think our defence can be sorted somehow, but we are weak up front and I think we should strenghten that area first.

 

CF, we create enough chances to win games and the strikers at the moment just aint doin it and we have to rely on McDonald too much.

One good CB aint enough to stop a team leaking goals at the back, and yet one prolific striker would only need half a chance to score!

 

We need both, but the chances of getting either are pretty slim

I'd say a defender is more urgent at this point in time.

I've been banging on about him in the player suggestions thread. He has 13 goals in 11 League games for Young boys of Berne in the Swiss League. Good enough to get as many here i'd reckon.

I could get a youtube of Kenny Miller and he'd look like Ruud van Nistelrooy in front of goal. youtube promos of players are pretty pointless tbh as you have * all to judge a player on.

He's currently not eligible for a work permit in the UK

 

Agree on the youtube footage, however, this guy's goal recod speaks for itself, 13 in 11 this season and 20 in 32 (supposedly only started 8 games in the league (source Wiki)) last season.

On the work permit, I beleive his age combined with his two caps would allow him to sit in front of a panel, who would judge his eligibilty.

So does Kris Boyd's record but would you compare him to Larsson's level if he broke his goals record in the SPL? I'm not saying he's Kris Boyd or Larsson but stats dont make a player.

He probably would get as far as a panel but most likely no further, they arent easily swayed and will probably rule against because he hasnt played in 75% of Ivory Coasts last matches.

Unless he marries someone in the EU, he's going to have work permit issues.

I guarantee that there is several clubs waiting in the wings for his circumstances to change.

I'd put money on him going to a french club in the future

 

Groningen picked up Suarez for 800,000 Euro. They are out there, the stumbling block isn't other clubs so much as our own scouting system and the ridiculous visa situation.

Anyway, I'd go for a striker. It should be Moggas' job to coach the defenders. The previous manager was able to have success with Heid and Mick.
Then come summer we could sell Skippy (or Sammy) and pick up a CB.
