Look guys everyone is entitled to their views and I don't want to close these threads but if people keep on calling people's religous views bullshit then I'm going to have to and infractions will be given out.

If you don't agree then fine, say so but don't try and force your views upon others. You've all been warned.

I was also a great believer.

I am older than you, so logically, though not necessarily, wiser. My concern is why can our church ask men to remain celibate and yet prescribe to "the flock" that if one has marital problems "go and see your priest". Our church obviously feels that upon ordination these guys become magicians.

Even a halfwit hun would not do that.

If I was to seek advice on the above matter I would probably council a married minister. Not of my faith certainly, but married all the same.

The other, and probably main thing is the amount of pervos, paedos, and oddballs we have as priests. Probably all stemming from the celibacy aspect.

Hope you, or others do not take offence at this, but it is how I feel with regards my faith. It's concerning.

Well they dont go to priests for tips on how to spice up their * lives like ffs. They can go for advice on the importance of the sacrament of marriage and how important it is in relation to their overall faith, so its my view that priests are in a fine position to help in that respect.

    Pervos, paedos and oddballs??!!:31:

GlasgowTim - I do believe you have a serious problem. Are you so childish that you can't accept that others may have a different view from yourself?

Without even getting into the religous debate in this thread, it seems to me that your immaturity prevents you from having any serious debate on a subject which is clearly very subjective.

Why do you feel the need to force your very strong views(the may be right or wrong, it doesn't really matter) on everyone who disagrees with you?

never been into religion went to a protestant school thats about it. The only time religion ever came a part of my life was when the school football team played the catholic team. the banter was good had not a bad scoreing record against them and we never lost to them. The best moment was when i scored the winner late on to beat them in a cup semi-final.

The only thing that anoys me about religion is in schools because when i was in school before a football game it was always "yes we have got the feenians" and no one ever pulled us up for saying it imo religion shouldnt be in schools you are there to learn

one thing youve got to say about catholicism is that its been far more successful at keeping people at least semi interested in church. The main protestant church a couple of generations ago had 80% of the baptisms and most of those attended. Its collapse has been unbelievable.
