I allways remember tommy gallaghan ,he was a tall ,lanky guy ,but was a grafter ,the sort of guy that wouldnt win player of the year awards ,an unfashionable player if you like and looking back now ,you would call him a guy that done the donkey work but still played a big part in that team ,he was allways there but you would hardly notice him ,probaly because of the other talent around him i supose .

He was that type of player ,as i said unfashionable ,if playing fitba in the street nobody would go Tommy Gallaghan ,do you get what i mean ,but if he wasnt in the team he would be missed .

Players like him make stars of others ,he would be doing the carthorse work for kenny ,dixie ,hood ,ian murray was another ,he played left back ,he wasnt a standout but again was part of the team ,good players :50:

    Coronation Cup 1953.

    Bonnar-Haughey-Rollo-Evans-Stein-McPhail-Collins-Walsh-Mochan-Peacock-Fernie.

These guys naver won many trophies but were second to none for entertainment and made history twice -The Coronation Cup and most of them were in the league cup final

Don't know if anyone would be interested but I enjoy finding out a bit about past players and have written profiles on The Mighty Atom (Patsy Gallagher), Celtic's Cheeky Chappie (Charlie Tully) and The Human Torpedo (Jimmy McGrory), all players well before my time but loved finding out more about these legends of yesteryear.

No wonder playing a right winger at Centre back, I wonder what ever happened to Vidar Riseth?

    what about this one -

    Gordon Marshall

Stuart Gray - Alan Stubbs - Tom Boyd - Jackie McNamara

Simon Donnelly - Paul McStay (c) - Paolo Di Canio - Phil O'Donnell

    Jorge Cadete Pierre Van Hooijdonk
Subs: Stewart Kerr - Brian McLaughlin - Andreas Thom (what happened to him?) - Peter Grant - Malky Mackay - Morten Weighorst

Was that the game of Cadete's infamous disallowed goal at Ibrox?
