The thing is you can't just sell 5 players and bring 5 in. It has to be done gradually or it could affect squad happiness or morale in general. There will be players in the dressing room that are important characters. It's a more complex issue when your dealing with humans no matter how much they're being payed. Imo the rest will do us good.

I actually think most of the major surgery should be done this January and not done gradually.

The club should be looking at Champions League qualification again this summer. In order to the best prepared for that, I think most of the ins and outs should be done this January so new players have 6-7 months to bed in.

That’s the ideal scenario and I think we’ll do more business than usual, but it is a difficult time to get real quality in as the better players don’t want to move mid season..

John Park did a decent job over to you Lee Congerton..

I agree with this. I think it's clear this team has peaked. There's a good few who play regularly, that I wouldn't even blink if they left.

I know you’re not asking me but

Armstrong, Lustig, Boyata, Gordon. 4 players who could and should be replaced in January in my opinion

Boyata won't be sold in January.

Lustig, I would give to the summer see how he is after a rest, he’s played too much. But aye we have maybe seen the best of him.

I agree, Simunovic more likely to be punted out of the two, I’d say..

I just think he will get torn a new one against Zenit. Guy seems to be struggling even against Scottish opposition. You might be right about him playing to much though. His passing has been really, really slack as of late.

As above.. we played 67 games last year.. only 6 were not in competition. The players may not be tired but having very little recovery time must have a bearing on being at top or optimum level.

i would guess that Aberdeen are second to us in playing most games due to cup runs.. and as long as both continue to be successful then it can't change. Maybe we do have too look at new league set up with less games.

    It needs a major overhaul.

    New GK
    New RB
    New CB
    Rotational LB
    New Midfielder
    New ST

    Anything less is unacceptable.

I don’t think we need a major overhaul, definitely need a freshen up though. What I would like and what will happen are two different things, but I would like a new keeper, a fast left sided player to compete with Tierney/Sinclair, and a quality number 10. Ralston should get more of a chance at RB, willing to see how Jozo and Boyata are after the break, have Compper in to strengthen for next season and with Ntcham, Brown, eboue (more game time) competing with McGregor and Armstrong I think a real class act to challenge Rogic would be enough right now.

    "Major Overhaul"

When I spill milk in my kitchen, I don't build an extension on the house and rip out the central heating.

No need for a major overhaul.

Minor tweaks I could get in favour of. We need to do a little bit of business but not a lot.

Some idiots seem to think that a group of League 1 rejects getting a draw at Paradise is the end of the world. It is not.

Yeah ,we get the passion and the disapointment fueling over reactions ,the manager and board are not sitting still ,they will be constantly looking at players ,contracts running out ,targets ,players going out on loan for game time ,there are no big overhauls needed ,if that happens then they have not been doing their jobs properly .
