Dont know about how many of you feel the same, but personally I am completely opposed to the idea of continuing the joint sponsorship with 'that other mob', not to mention think it is deplorable, if not totally reprehensible, indeed morally and ethically bankrupt, that we are going to further pursue the avenue of having alcohol sponsors.
I propose that we boycott the new strip when it is released and rather, opting for the sponsorless alternative. This will send a clear message, that although we are still going to support the team by purchasing the new kit, that by having them without a sponsor, that we do not approve of having joint deals with the bluenoses, that we are a seperate entity to them, that we want nothing to do with them, and that includes sharing a sponsors.
This isn't about fashion, how it'll look (which can only imagine would be hideous), nor about if you happen to like the product or not. Its about us being Celtic fans, not O** F*** fans. Lets get as many Tims to do likewise.
How do others feel about such a campaign? Who's with me?

I buy the top without the sponsor anyway. I hate sponsors on tops.
-
* CAPITALISM!! I dont want anything on our shirt
-
I'm just going to do as I usually do.....buy without sponsor.
-
Chalk me up as another one against the alcohol sponsorship. Alcohol is a cancer that's killing this country and having Scotland's two biggest football teams plastered with a certain brand that already has massive exposure elsewhere is a tad unethical.
I'm glad the club have at least some decency in offering sponsorless shirts, especially for children. -
Don't like buying it without the sponsor cos then it's not a replica kit.
If it's the red T though then I'll probably get no sponsor. -

It would send a message, that the next time that sponsorship deals have to be negotiated, that we are Celtic fans, not O** F*** fans. That we can find our own deal, that we don't need them. *, financially speaking, they need us, if anything. Many other cities, not just in the UK but across the globe have big rival clubs don't need to do such deals. There is no reason why Glasgow need be an exception to the rule. -

GROW UP SON ITS ONLY A SPONSER -
The problem with having one sponsor for both teams is that it eliminates the possibility of one half of the country taking a disliking to a particular brand because they sponsor X and they support Y. I only take issue with the alcohol branding yet again.

I do agree , but i am afraid if you don't like it with the sponsor your only option is don't buy it , it's a long term contract so we will just have to get on with it!

who cares? money talks and pays the wages, we could be sponsored by mugabe enterprises as long as the despot pays the going rate i dont give a *!!!

Tennents will be giving Celtic 1.5m per year for 3 years
If Celtic didnt get the best price for sponsorship, you'd probably start a campaign against Lawwell for not getting the best deal for Celtic!
I wont be boycotting Celtic for doing the best given the circumstances.

Good idea, I think this city needs more people to drive a knife between any comparisons of the old firm being similar, we need to teach our children early on that we are different and should not have any kind of common thread.. That way they can learn to properly hate at the correct age. Teach them that one is better and the other is worse.. that's the kind of thinking this country needs :50: -
