He was excellent on the ball, especially from halftime onward.

There'll be countless amounts of toothless huns, greeting away in their lodges, trying to explain and reason wi how they didn't score from this....

    What a bhoy CCV!

He's still undefeated in 90mins against them in all competitions in the 3 and a half years he's been here.

For me, he’s the best CB in my lifetime and I don’t think that’s controversial.

Van Dijk has been one of the best CB’s in the world. But in terms of Celtic, CCV is the best for me.

Thought he had a pretty poor first half by his standards, excellent in the 2nd half tho.

I think he shows incredible bravery and quick thinking to suck them into that, though. He doesn't back off as quickly as most defenders do in that situation (the brave part), which forced their player to make a decision and he deliberately leaves the least dangerous pass wide open (the intelligent part). And then after the pass was made, his acceleration was something else.

Most defenders back off much further until they reach the box. It requires real bravery not to, because if you do, no blame attaches to you for the almost inevitable goal. If you do what CCV did, it's better odds for your team but you risk being personally done by a pass or piece of skill.

The 4 v 1 was special but just as good was when Hagi puts it past him in box and CCV can't get to the ball but is sharp enough to get his body in the way instead and simply stops him dead without a foul. Superb.

Stopped a certain goal when it was 4 v 1. Barring that he was poor.

That block was ridiculous. He had no right to get to that one.

His one against Aberdeen recently was superb as well.

Something I noticed after the block today was that the players didn’t really react much to it. Also noticed as well that McGregor had no urgency to get back either he was just jogging back.
