Sounds like the big man has a chance of making it midweek, for now, we can just use him for CL games and hopefully that may be enough for the issue to clear up.

 

Any words if he makes it for the game tomorrow? What do you think?

Was coming on to post about his not travelling, from comments by Brendan it sounds like CCV’s injury just needs rest for him to recover not an operation so it’s over to Celtic to manage this situation as pain killing injections can’t be allowed to continue open ended

 

Likely won't play until at least Aberdeen game now which would be 4 and a half weeks rest. Generally recovery time for metatarsels is bout 6 weeks so hopefully hes good to go for then

 

Was expecting the same myself as well. It is the right thing to do especially as we have no game till October 19th after this weekend. CCV is way too important to our season we need to get him back to 100% fitness.

Cameron Carter-Vickers has been ruled out of Celtic’s Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund.

The USA international remained in Glasgow as the rest of the squad flew to Germany for the match at Signal Iduna Park, having failed to recover from a toe injury that saw him miss recent games.

Manager Brendan Rodgers said he may be ft by the weekend but couldn’t make the trip for what is a huge match for the Scottish champions.

“Cam is not available. We’ll see what he’s like going into next weekend, but he’s not here for this one.,” Rodgers said.

“Clearly he’s a top-class player for us and he’s missed a little bit of Champions League football I think in his time.

“Five of the 12 games the club has played he has unfortunately not been able to play in.


But we have other players. It’s always an opportunity for somebody else to come in and hopefully we can get Cam back sooner rather than later.

“But we can’t over-think it. We will rely on the collective. There’s not one player that brings our results and how we have been this season. Of course he’s a very important player, Cam, but for us to get a result it will be about the collective.

 

His injuries are becoming a bit of an issue tbh, missed so many important games for us over the last couple seasons now. A massive task tomorrow has become a lot more difficult now without him.

 

Hasn't helped that we played him through that knee injury he needed surgery on then rushed him back too quickly from it causing his muscle injuries

 

Don’t disagree, we’ve been guilty of that too many times in recent years.

Knew he wasn't making tomorrow, would be surprised if he plays any part against County either.

Hopefully see him again against Aberdeen, massive few games for Trusty.

 

He wont play against County. That's a dead cert

 

Aye, if he's not playing tomorrow night, he's no playing against County. Can't risk it. Especially when we have even bigger games on the horizon.
