That defensive performance yesterday was up there with the best I've seen.

How often he’s been out this year I still breath a sigh of relief seeing his name on the teamsheet, his return is the difference between a league win or no, he’s colossal man. He’s the best CB I’ve seen for us. Above Mjallby and Van Dijk.

 

He's like the black Hulk, but never ever does he break from an ice cold demeanour.

Won't even disagree bud, best CB at least since Johan and co.

 

Next season he needs a REAL partner.

Scales and Nawrocki are good cover, in fact Nawrocki hasn't been given a proper shake imo.

But we need to take a similar lump of cash that we paid for him, and find him a proper CB partner.

We simply cannot go into the CL group stages with Scales. It just can't happen.

 

If we get a partner for him that is 70% of his ability, we're going undefeated next season domestically.

It's like watching a dad playing with their toddlers. He is Mark Henry in footballing form.

 

He was immense yesterday. Absolutely rock solid. Won everything. Covered majorly for the other 3 in the back line.

1st name on the team sheet. Superb.

 

A colossus and fabulous as usual - as others have said, bailed out the other weak links in our defense multiple times.
Haven't felt this good about a centre half since Paul Elliot.

Love him, and he’s that good that it’s become expected for him just to boss every game. So lucky to have him

 

The thing that worries me, is that this season we have signed 2 new CB in Nawrocki and Lagerbielke, as well as having lengthy contract extensions to Welsh and Scales.

Yes, CCV also signed a 5+ yr extension back in January, but if we have the other 4 guys all locked up for a few years to come, I am really hoping that the club are not just thinking that between the 4 of them that we have the long term partner for CCV already sorted out as well. We really need someone beside him who is a stepup on what we have.

 

Pass to Maeda for the Lundstrum goal was immense. Not been doing enough of that as a team this season.

 

Definitely haven't..

We've got ballers and quality/pace in the forward areas to stretch sides quickly, particularly at home..

 

Defended brilliantly again. That pass to Maeda was great as well.

We need to pair him with someone with real pace, and ideally someone comfortable on the ball.

 

Even a Boyata next to him basically seals the League next season.

CCV next to a guy who is even better than him in the air and faster than him and we concede barely any goals as it is with the rest of the team the same.

 

Hopefully to stay with us till retirement.

Said it whole game yesterday the amount of runs kyogo and forrest were making and the severe lack of awareness in too many of our players this season has been poor.

 

Thinking maybe his injury troubles this year has actually helped us in a way, as you can guarantee if he'd played all season he'd have had plenty offers elsewhere. If we had to replace him thus summer along with all the other issues it would be a nightmare.
