Tough decision to make. If he is fit - we won't lose to Lazio. Almost guarantee that. But if we rush him and the injury flares up...:55:

Kobayashi looked fine next to CCV. That is a measure of the big man's quality.

    Tough one to weigh up.

If he’s even half fit you’d want him playing, but you just don’t want to risk him aggravating the injury further.

Grand old team to play for
A bit worried about this. If we're not 100% sure that it's medically the right time to bring him back into a match day squad, he should not be involved.

It seems a bit convenient that CCV is deemed fit for the squad, when we're going in to a CL game with only Scales and Phillips, who's just back from injury, as the senior CBs available.

Pretty sure he’s fully fit if he’s playing. Not match fit obviously. Medical team and CCV know his body better than us.

Would rather just wait till after international break rather than rushing him back but given we only have 1 fully fit Centre back available for 2mo nite then I can see him being on the bench.

Phillips will likely start with Scales but he's barley played since April and just back off an injury too so relying on him to play full 90 mite be too much. Would certainly rather have Ccv there in that scenario to bring on for last 20 mins than a kid from that * awful B team.

I would be very, very, very tempted to start him.

It would give the entire team and support an instant shot in the arm.

Too big a risk. Thought about a week ago Rodgers said he would be back after the international break? Surely he's not suddenly two weeks ahead of schedule.

    Cannot be rushing him back.

CAMERON CARTER-VICKERS won’t start Celtic’s Champions League tie against Lazio, with Brendan Rodgers admitting the match has come just too soon for his star centre half to make his XI.

Carter-Vickers has been out of action since late August after limping out of his side’s match against Aberdeen with a hamstring issue, and was originally expected to be sidelined until after the forthcoming international break.

While recovering ahead of schedule, the Celtic manager said that he won’t take a risk on the American, and at best, will only call upon his services if he is required later in the game.

Cameron wouldn’t be to start, it’s about whether we can get him in the bench,” Rodgers said.

“And if he had to come on and play 20 minutes to half an hour then great. If not, then we’ll keep him for the weekend. But he’s shown up really well.

“He’s needing to see his reaction to our last day of training and work and take it from there.

But he’s very positive and it’s great news for us because we didn’t think he’d be back until after the international break.

“He’s worked very hard and everything he’s done with the medical team he’s shown up very well.

“He’s obviously been back in with us a little bit. It will be like signing a new player.

“You can see that comfort blanket for the team. A centre half who is quick, strong, good on the ball, a proper man and knows football.

He’s a great player for Celtic. I’m really looking forward to working with him.

“I know his education, I’m very close with a guy called John McDermott and John’s technical director of the English FA. He was 15 years at Tottenham and I’ve heard John speak on Cam before and his qualities and how he good he is.

“But it’s great to see it for my own eyes and see him here.

“He’ll be a big player for us.”

If he makes the bench tomorrow night then that would be great. Phillips doesn't fill me with confidence injury wise.

I doubt Phillips will last 90 due to being out injured also. We may have no other option but to throw CCV on after 60mins.

Win tonight and then we will definitely have him back for the remainder of the group games. What a boost that would be.

That's making me nervous. If CCV isn't 100% we could end up having to bring Ralston on and move AJ to CB or to put Iwata in at CB.

Cannot wait for him to come back but got to be careful here. I don't want to see him return to early to see him out long-term again. Got to be really careful with this
