His off the ball game is terrible, he pulls out of tackles week in week out. These things stand out in the big games and go un noticed when we play in the the lesser teams. Ambrose has been covering for him far too long:56:

No he didn't deserve to start because he's not good enough !! Our manager has gave him a few starts while others get back to fitness and while waiting for hopefully another face or 2 to come in , if he remains in our starting 11 I'll be amazed and disappointed tbh

Squad player. A central midfielder will be Brendan's priority.

Good going forward for us but gets caught up in possession far too easily, losses concentration under Rodgers system and can't find that extra yard of pace to cover dangerous counter attacks.

He needs shifted lacks that quality.

He looks ok going forward in the spl where you get nearly all the possession with plenty of time and space !! He defo has some touches but is way to lightweight and the big games pass him by !!

100%. He would suit a Club like Hibs no problem.

We can't have 22-23 players who are good enough to play in first XI for us, that's impossible. Having guys like McGregor around is great, guys who are quality squad players, who are satisfied with that, and who do the job, you can't expect miracles from such players because that's their limit.

He's not turned in a sub standard player over night. Deserves so be in about the team in the current squad.

He's a good wee player but I'd expect someone to come in before the end of the month that he will make way for.

Senseless to want rid though, he's worth a place on the bench min. Armstrong should be long gone before that.

Great little player. Is always tidy, works hard and can chip in with goals. His chip in to Rogic for the goal last week was sublime.

Dont understand the criticism of him. Still a young player and developing all the time. Saying that, I wouldnt want him driving me home at 3 in the morning.

He was poor in his last game.

*, if you read a match thread it doesn't even need to be a full match it can be one misplaced place and suddenly he's rank rotten!

I agree he's a neat and tidy player that has improved loads and is also a goal threat. I certainly won't be writing him off.

He just needs to learn how to influence big games.. He'll develop further..

I like him. He puts hard graft into his performances. He's not the finished product but he is prepared to drive forward. Another season or two and things will all fall into place. More games the more experience. Good enough for me.

It just goes round in circles. Folk just love labelling players deadwood. See Brown and Forrest threads for example. 2 months time it will be "glad to be proved wrong, I thought he was *" yet 3 months ago he's the future. It's mad.

His best position and duty is not a defensive midfielder. He should be further up. Sadly/fortunately- there's a cracking Tom Rogić doing well there. Callum can also play on the sides, too.. Bit of versatility in him. I'd keep him certainly, but he's not good for more defensive positions in European games.

He's not a DM. His best results have come when he is in the middle going forward.
