His first bad game for us in a long long time, and I suspect it was the state of the plastic pitch that had something to do with it.

He never hides and is one of our few midfielders who pops up with important goals. I would put this down to a blip.

 

Sweet, above him I would rate:
Gordon, Lustig, Sviatchenko, Toure, Simunovic, Boyata, Tierney, Izzaguirre, Brown, Bitton, Johansen, Roberts, Rogic, Allan, Armstrong, Christie, Mackay-Stevens, Commons, Griffiths, Dembele

Mackay-Steven and Armstrong looked far better at Dundee United than McGregor ever has imo. The other close one would be Allan, but you're asking my opinion so I'll give it- force me to choose between the two and I'll definitely pick Allan.

The players in bold are the only ones who are more effective players for us than Mcgregor.

 

Aye right! Johansen has been player of the season. I'm no Brown fan, but he has had good European nights in his near-decade here. Izzaguirre has contributed and endless amount more. Same goes for Commons.

The rest I'll accept as contentious, but I would definitely still rate them over McGregor.

 

Think he's a very tidy and industrious player. Last two games his distribution has been mince but I would certainly stick with him to see how he develops under Rodgers.

I dont see any player in this guy, baffles me how some rate him. Loses the ball far to often,cant tackle, cant put pressure on any player and when he has a spell of 15 min with good link up play and creative passing he goes totally under after that.

 

Absolutely rotten.

I know it's Barcelona we're playing, but you'd expect one of your central midfielders to AT LEAST be able to hold on to the ball for at least two seconds.

 

i changed my opinion of him last season, but this year he seems to be going backwards game by game.

Yeah, he certainly did up his game come the end of last season, and did well......I won't deny him that.

But, he has been pitiful since the beginning of this season, absolutely pitiful.

He annoys the * out of me. Wee tippy-toes. * shots on target.

Pish. Get him aff. Now.

 

Armstrong and Allan will need to prove themselves this season, but I rate both more then this useless *.

 

He played fine against Imps. He wasnt good on Wednesday but has done okay in friendlies barring this one. This thread has been doing my box in this week. Knee-*.

Either that or people who have never rated him showing face.

 

Needs to be playing the holding midfield/ anchor role that brown plays. Has the technical ability and awareness to do so . Struggles in the pressure of the advanced role as he lacks a killer instinct around the box.

 

I always think this is a bit of a cop out. We've got a team of defensive midfielders because we've got a team of midfielders that aren't good enough and need to sit further back..

 

No he could and should not play there, Brown can bully other players and secure possesion thats why he plays there.

 

It´s now my personal agenda to get him and Armstrong out of the team I will say it at every oppurtinity these two are wasted shirts just like Ambrose they need to get punted asap. McGregor only plays good against part timers or when are totally bossing the game and Armstrong had only one decent game in the big matches that I remember. It´s not like oh yeah lets see they can come good or stuff like that, I wouldnt even want them to be in the reserves.

 

He tries but he's just not the answer at CM.
