My concern with Cal is more about the fact he will be playing tomorrow because he’ll play hurt more-so than him not playing at all.

    This.

Moving Schlupp into the mid is a mistake.

I'd be worse than two men down.

Hopefully the real one is fit enough though. :)

He’s been nursing the injury for a couple weeks at least, he was training all week and rested the friday. The closest training to the actual game. That’s just continuing to nurse a niggle so he can play.

Might just be because I’m so used to McGregor always making it, 99% of his Celtic career he’s made sure to be there, even through injuries, concussions broken jaw and masks and everything.

I’m not worried at all about him not playing. He’ll play. He’ll have a blinder, and then he’ll play until St Johnstone with him being subbed 60 minutes I imagine, then he’ll deal with it.

He’s done it as long as he’s played here. And he just seems to power through game after game available, the only worry is if that’ll catch up with him suddenly in the next couple years. But honestly, I can’t see it, Callum McGregor is a freak of nature with his fitness.

I'd play him in the second half. Huns will target him either way, but they will be tired by the 60-th minute.

I’d not even bother risking him if he’s not 100%. Engels is more than capable of playing that role and then no worries about McCowan stepping in from the start either.

We missed him. Whether we would have got the version of him that bossed this game is another question as that hasn’t been there for much of the season, but the Engels / McCowan combo didn’t work.

Missed him today. We really need to be looking for decent cover for him in the summer instead of having to shuffle 8's in there.

It’s a * * excuse but we are not the same team without him. We should not be relying on a guy who’s nearly hitting retirement. Look like headless chickens without him. Hopefully tierney can come in and restore some order but * me, do theses boys not know how to take some responsibility

Not sure we did miss him all that much. He’s been anonymous the last couple of games against them.

Rodgers needs to tweak the midfield in these games.

We missed him massively. Our tempo and control on the ball was off without him. Our passing patterns were poor without him.

Need to start looking at life beyond McGregor. He’s getting on, can’t rely on him forever and st this moment we haven’t got a back up plan

I hope today puts an end to the myth that he's not needed.

He was poor at Ibrox but he's vital to the way we play.

He is important to us. Very much so.

But that worries me. He isn't getting any younger and unlike when Brown left there isn't someone like him kicking about who I think "yep He could be the next leader in there".

I think it was his quality that was missing today rather than leadership, plays the hardest position on the pitch and makes it look easy how he builds the game for us, how often does he take it off any of the back 4 rsttled into him and he controls and passes it straight to a winger tor a 1v1. it’s top level. Huge miss today.

    I'd say both were missing.

You need a leader or two in games like that and CCV, Schmeichel and Johnton, the 3 I'd have expected to step in and lead, ironically had their worst ever games for us.

    Bizarre.

One thing we can say now, it's 100% not Calmac that's the problem in midfield with slow, negative, tippy tappy stuff - the whole midfield have the same problem.
