Again anonymous in this game. Had zero effect and slapped about by Raskin....

It's all about Celtic. So let's not make the same mistake we did wi Broony. Let's get his replacement sourced now. Get them in and start the slow transition now.

Signs have been there since last season.. but supposedly it's anathema to criticise the captain and supposed lynchpin of our midfield.

    Succession planning is needed.

You’ll struggle to find a bigger supporter of him than me, but he’s been terrible for the majority of this season.

Looks like he’s running about with someone on his back.

    Hard to watch.

    Don't * quote me, I honestly don't give a *..

That is the biggest hide and seek job you'll ever see from a Celtic captain. Decided he wasn't coming back out second half and wanted no part..

    Shameful..

Weak as nuns *, against a higher level of opposition he just is not suited to CDM, nowhere near physical enough, a huge attribute that role demands, sure, he was outstanding against Leipzig, but I said that night that that was by far his best European performance and it took him 10 seasons to deliver it, it was an exception rather than the rule for him at that level, if we want to progress another gear we need a far more imposing, physical, powerful player in that position of the pitch, of course they'll have to be technical too with passing and skill, not easy to find but they are out there

For as long as Brendan is manager McGregor will start nearly every game though, just gonna have to accept that

He was hopeless but I find it hard to blame him it's been so apparent for so long he simply can't be the deepest of the middle 3. He has never and will never be a holding mid. That today was eerily similar to Dortmund earlier this season and countless away games in Europe where McGregor is clearly the sitter whilst everyone else in front of him is in a different postcode

I thought he was atrocious today.

No defence for him, just atrocious

Shitebag when pressed. Raskin showed him.how a captain in adversity should play

I backed him no more than a week ago, but that was disgraceful performance, might be his worst yet for us.

He needs proper competition at CDM, going another season without him is just pure negligent.

Aye, he and the rest of the midfield were horrific.

    Hide and seek champion again.

Some people won’t like to admit it but he just cannot be our lynchpin for the next few years.

He’s still a good player but it’s increasingly obvious that he’s not the best we can get as our lone 6. Offers next to no defensive protection. Weak physically. Not as quick as he once was either. Not as progressive as he was.

We need someone with a bit of physicality and dynamism in there.

Someone like that with McGregor and Bernardo/Engels in front would be so much better.

As each passing derby goes...the more he's irrelevant in the game. His influence is diminishing and it's totally right to question if his legs are gone.

Can’t beat a man anymore as his pace has fell off a cliff. Needs dropped, CCV and Kasper are bigger leaders on the pitch for us this season.

No time to be sentimental, it’s no surprise our midfield looked far more fluid without him in their at the weekend.

Times like today you miss a captain like Broony. Their midfield would never have walked over us if he was there.

    Shameful today

Bajrami of all * gave him the runaround today and he’s got zero legs. McGregor is 100% morphing into Scott Brown in his last 1-2 seasons. Contributing * all going forward and a liability going back the way.

This isn’t a reaction to today, it’s every time we play poor he’s at the centre of it. No leadership skills to get the team riled up and manage the game for 10 mins to take the sting out of it.

Replace him with a Wanyama type player and I’m telling you we would be a much better team.

Had a decent start to the season but been * poor since the international break. Looks so slow, doesn't show for the ball and plays backwards all the time.

Needs phasing out at some point in the near future, but we'll probably do a Broony with him and play him every week until he's 36 or something.

I post about it a lot and I want to make it clear that I don’t think he’s done or washed up, but something is up.

He wasn’t hiding earlier in the season the way he is now, nor has he to this extent in the past. He’s not showing for the ball. You look at us when we’re in possession and he’s hiding among their players like he’s actively avoiding the pass. If he’s trying to create space it isn’t working and there’s a black hole between the midfield and strikers at the moment.

We looked far more dangerous and ruthless last week without him, albeit against a poor St Johnstone.
