Looks possible that he could play his 500 th Celtic match against Villa in Champions League. Depends on league cup matches and postponed league matches.

I would be tempted to rest him on Saturday for the game with St J and keep him fresh for Dortmund. Give McCowan a game alongside Bernardo and Engels.

He’s just off the back of a good rest the Scotland games. He’ll get more rests this season than he ever has

It's enough though. He'll have a 2 week break, between games atleast, in September, October and November. That'll be plenty for him. He's just turned 31, not 35

Everything he says is so media trained. Would like to see his real personality for once.

I watched the Bratislava game again. McGregor was incredible, much better than I had remembered TBH. No offence to Scales (who was our best defender) or Engels, but McGregor should have got MOTM in that one IMHO.

I have heard 2nd hand he is very intense and focused. Might not be the case under all circumstances, but also might well be what most matches his "real personality" for most.

All depends on what you mean by "real" personality. Not sure that most people will ever see that. Which is probably normal.

He’s been peak McGregor this season. Definitely plays his best football under BR.

Playing his best football in years. He was always a big goal threat when he was at his best. Madness that he was playing so far away from the oppositions box for years.

He's been brilliant for years. Best midfielder we've produced in my lifetime.

Every year and tweak of his position we get best in years, his best position, playing his best football. Every single season bar the covid disaster it’s been said.

It's actually been great that we have players on the bench now to give him a rest.
Guys played 60+ games a year for about 10 years now

His best football for us was under Rodgers first spell. Now he has him scoring regularly again. Having him higher up the park was a necessity in my opinion. He has far too much quality to be dropping so deep that he is just taking it off the centre half. The centre halfs are carrying it out and this means McGregor can stay higher up.
