if we try and take the blinkers off if we go into another European campaign with McGregor as CDM we will get murdered. We're desperate for a more combative player in there. highly doubt we will sign another though. Going to be another tough year in the champions league

Even though i agree that he sometimes fade away in europe for us, i think it is hard to judge him by this euros tournament. He played in a formation that is the complete opposite to what his club plays. Made no sense at all even trying to make him play negative football imo. I believe that he thrives when the game is much faster.

I wouldn't judge any player too harshly in this tournament. The set up by Clarke was horrendous. Playing 4 central midfielders and 5 defenders was shambolic and an embarrassment to football. No width and a reliance on McGinn and McTominay to get goals for us? Really? In a tournament where pretty much every side played an attacking style ( even Hungary had 7 shots on goal) I was sickened at the lack of ambition and refusal to allow players to express themselves. 3 shots on goal in the whole tournament should be the death knell on Clarke's Scotland tenure.

Moyes has done exceptionally with West Ham, not sure why a lot of fans think he would play defensively. If anything this year West Ham have been punished most when they’ve played attacking (or also just played utter * haha).

moyes comments at the end of that game tho saying “no quality” means I think he would probably not take it if asked. And also the SFA might not like the comment itself and choose not to approach him

Didn't have a great tournament but there appears to be a witch hunt against him.

Just glad he isn't injured and can hopefully now get a rest ahead of coming back to us.

Think we just need to face it our version of football is nothing like european continental or international football, the way we play at home is not ever good enough and never will be, it needs changed and we've known that for decades

I think the only definitely worse teams are your San Marino's luxemburgs Malta's and cyprus's

The captain of Celtic who has hoisted more trophies aloft than the rest of that squad put together (apart from the Celts in there) and this pathetic country blames him and lauds a wee non entity like Gilmour.

    * them.

We need our captain to be on it for the next two league campaign to smash the continuity lie and destroy his Sevco supporting detractors.

He will end them and go down in history as the most successful captain of our club.

    * turning out for a football association that cheated Celtic and * all the * teuchters and Sevconians * about him today.

We definitely had the players to cause teams problems. Morgan and Forrest could and should have been played more. At least then we could have taken the game up the park. This might have allowed McGinn, McGregor and Gilmour to have a bit of space in the centre to take passes and move forward. So many questions. Why Gunn instead of Gordon, who would have Def saved Germany's first goal. Why did the powderkeg of Porteous start ahead of McKenna? Why did Hanley start at all? Why not play Tierney on the right hand side and Robertson on the left? Why did Clarke make out that McGinn and a clearly not 100% were potential Balon Dor Winners? It was like a closed shop where Clarke was only going to play his favourites and his formation no matter how bad it was.

No Celtic fan is going to be hypercritical of the guy based purely on 3 games for Scotland. The reality however is that he had a poor season, and we’ve looked massively vulnerable with Cal being deployed as a DM in Europe.

We can ignore that and hope he turns it around (he might) or acknowledge it and prepare for the fact that he might have declined.

I agree with most of your point but Tierney is chronic on the right. Awkward as * on his right foot.

I agree, but it was unfair to have Ralston in that position, and the subsequent grief he got. Unfairly in my opinion as he was let down by his CBs. Tierney could have played it. Wouldnt have been ideal but it's what I would have done.

Clarke's system left McGregor isolated with very little opportunities to pass forward. Got the assist vs Switzerland and generally played well, despite not being great last night. Witch hunt against him is daft.

The witch hunt against him by the hurting hun SMSM is a load of *, He wasn't one of the worst players in the tournament, thought McGinn didn't offer much, McGregor is one of the very few players in that Scotland team that has won a record number of trophies in his club football career, Just hope now that he takes time off to get a very well earned and deserved rest and come back for us stronger than ever, which I'm certain He will.

Not one single player in a Scotland shirt could get judged to have had a "good tournament".

Some like McGinn showed up for 10 minutes a game, others like gilmour flattered to deceive, and then players like Calmac never got going in a daft as * tactical set up.

Anyone chatting * about Cal being "done" or other such pish need to go pour some cold fizzy water over their heads.

Although I will say this, BR better get the * memo that Cal is not a DM, especially not in Europe.

He wasn’t great but wasn’t terrible. Him, McTominay and Hendry were slightly above the test but that’s not saying much.

Don’t think theirs a witch hunt at all. It’s typical Celtic / Rangers patter to go on the defensive if someone even questions one of our players. Media and fans are slaughtering most of the players in the squad.
