I was going mental at that, but Bernardo coming on rather than Iwata ended up winning the game.

I was complaining like * during the game saying the exact same thing though, he was proven right in the end up.

Even above managers who will come and go I see Cal as being the real leader of this football club.
I can't remember the context but I mind ange saying in one of his press conferences that he wasnt the one players had to fear that it was the skipper.

How important he is to our midfield is still underrated. A treble next year and he’s the best captain since McNeill.

    Deserves some quality teammates.

Love him and he is a fantastic footballer. What worries me is that players at his age just turn up completely changed. I hope he can continue a season or two at his current level, but its important to have that in consideration. It was the same with Lustig and Brown. But i do think he can continue at this level for 90 mins a bit more.

He's very different to those two though. His technically and smarter than them on and off the ball.

No doubt he will lose his pace and will have to adapt his game on that front but he is clever enough to get round it.

Think he’s already lost a yard or two tbh, he used to be pretty rapid but you can see him really struggling to get back when players are running past him now. As you said though, he’s so good technically and clever so that it won’t become a major issue for him.

The hun midfielders genuinely have no clue how to play him, on Saturday they clearly decided they were just going to try and break up the game by fouling, sadly for them work with McGregor because they can’t actually get close enough to him in the first place. Keep seeing how well Raskin supposedly played, he was taught a lesson, again.

I saw them saying Raskin had a good game and Diomande. Laughable though as Diomande made one or two decent passes but should've had three yellow cards and one straight red cars. I genuinely forgot Raskin was on the pitch. Cantwell was their best player in the first half and faded massively in the second.

McGregor got lots of space all game again.

If I was a rangers player or supporter I would be absolutely fuming with Raskin.

The reason their goal was chopped off and the guy Bernardo mugged off for ours. They are as thick as pig *.

Over the course of time, McGregor will likely drop deeper ala Scott Brown in his last few years with us. He is so technically adept and has superb awareness that he may become even more important for us. His all action style requires pace but he is able to read the game exceptionally well so this will make up for that in spades IMO.

The closest example I can think of right now is what happened with Michael Carrick at Man Utd under Ferguson. I think the same happens with McGregor and he will absolutely thrive in it.

all the technical attributes to thrive as he gets older in the style of Modric.

Hard to see where our next Captain comes from.

McGregor quite unique in many ways, but quality players like him rarely stay with one club.

That’s why we should be getting good young lads in and giving them a chance. If Carter Vickers stays it has to be him if not if we were playing lads like Daniel Kelly and Lennon miller next season and trusting them the likes of players like that could be a mainstay and take over
