The kid does seem to have a fair bit of negativity aimed at him. As another poster said he doesn't hide and leaves himself open for a pass. He does look like he is trying when he is involved. FFS he was seen as a saviour when we recalled him from County I seem to recall.

He's been okay recently but the fact he's starting regularly right now is yet another indication of how average/pish we are.

I think it's more of an indication of how many injuries we have just now tbh.

    How so?

Who would take his place, Brown?

Brown, Armstrong, Mulgrew, Johansen has been injured for periods, previously Commons who is just back.

He covers about 5 positions, he wasn't getting a look in until injuries and he's forced himself into contention with his own performances.

    100% a central midfielder though.

    I suppose.

On the flip side though, the only one of those players you mentioned who has performed reasonably this season is Brown and he's even been below par.

Neither of the other three would deserve to push McGregor out of the team and it's not as if he's been great. Obviously Mulgrew hasn't really had the chance.

Aw aye, there's no doubting we've been pish mate. That's also the reason he's infront of GMS.

Far better option than Armstrong just now as well.

    So underwhelmed by Armstrong.

Even the games he's played through the middle he's been disappointing. Expected so much from him as well.

Don't think we've seen a full game with him through the middle this season. Can't be easy.

To be honest, I don't even think it's entirely to do with his position. He just looks lost.

Doesn't help that we have far too many players for that one position, though.

Think that can happen with being played in the wrong position, overthink things, get bereft of confidence, not playing your natural game. Second guess yourself.

    Could well be the case.

I'd like to see him getting a few games through the middle but it's unlikely to happen unless we pick up a few injuries there. Shame.

Yup, with Broony out he's picked the worst time to get injured. * happens though.

I do understand and appreciate that, Sean. I ended by saying 'ideally' he should move on. Right now, it wouldn't be good for either party. I think for the lad himself, he should maybe be looking at pastures new as it seems unlikely he'll succeed here. He did well when he was in England - maybe he has a future in the lower leagues?

Not a wide player, sick of Ronny playing central players out wide

Doesn't seem to be getting much of a mention but thought his control and weighted pass for Griffiths first goal was superb, he had some other nice touches apart from that. Played a good amount of games recently and hasn't let anyone down. To be honest I thought he was on his way out & rightly so but fair play to him he's turned it around. Long term I'm not sure of his prospects but I've been impressed with him recently.

Recently seems to score or assist, pretty much every game.

Good player but for me does all his work in the first 20 minutes then goes missing for me!
