Some seem so blinkered with him hes been miles off it for ages but that said he isn't and will never be suited to playing the role he's being asked to play in the side it's only highlighted further in Europe.

We've needed a proper holding mid since Wanyama left that would allow McGregor to play more football going forward

Think he's forgot what forward means

We ran Brown into the ground, looks like we are on the same path with Mcgregor.

    We never learn from anything.

Probably knackered after playing 187 mins for Scotland last week by that boring * Clarke.

Must be knackered every game then because it’s been all season at least.

I am probably one of the blinkered ones. When you look at some of the poor players/projects he is playing beside no wonder he struggles at times. He was far better last season with much better players around him. It’s why he’s so good for Scotland, the level of player he is playing with in general is far higher than what we have.

The similarities between brown under rodgers and now mcgregor are a mirror image.

Taking short passes and going left or right, offering absolutely zero!!

I thought he was our best player, but not saying much.

I don't like how Rodgers is using him though, whilst first time around he was the man that brought him to the fore.

I'll never say a bad word about McGregor, but he's getting absolutely zero support in this midfield.

He just doesn’t offer enough for me. I have never got the love for him.

No defensive capability, he doesn’t screen the defence well enough playing at the base. Doesn’t score enough goals, his passing is safe, he doesn’t drive and break the lines.

He's a good metronome type player who keeps play ticking over but he’s very negative with his play and passing.

    He's playing far too deep.

Have constantly changed the 3rd man in midfield since Hatates injury to try and find his replacement when the obvious answer is staring us in the face.

Get Iwata in as the 6 and let Mcgregor do what he does best and let him play as the 8.

No one else in the squad is of the same level he is in that position.

He's ruined playing as a 6 and he cant defend for * anyway

Deserves a spell on the sidelines.

The manager's methods aren't helping him but * me he's been one of our worst performers this season. What does he actually bring to the side these days? All he does is recycle the ball, passing it sideways and backwards.

5 more years of this is a terrifying thought, cos you know he'll never be dropped despite how badly he performs.

Recruitment has * any balance in the midfield on paper a 3 of Hatate, Mcgregor and O'Riley is decent but the drop off to literally every other midfielder is massive and that's even considering Mcgregor isn't suited to the role he plays.

I'd like to see Iwata come in and let Mcgregor play one forward with O'Riley but it won't happen

Used to love McGregor because he could go on those driving runs and take 3 defenders out of the game just with his sheer energy and drive. * knows where that's gone.

He's become a * version of Scott Brown.

Age catches up with everyone. He's on the Scott brown path now. Slowing down so sitting too far back. He no longer takes the ball, turns and continues the play further up the pitch. That's why we miss hatate so much right now.

Problem is I don't think he'd suit us playing further up the park now..
