Looks like he's already away on his holidays. You want to see him * shake the squad but he looked as complacent as the rest of them.

You can tell this is something Beale has worked on. His effect in these games has been dampened a bit cause of it. Need to tweak it for next season.

For me, we should be getting him further up the pitch anyway. Get Iwata in the DMF and let Mooy, Calmac and Reo sort it out for the other two places in MF.

That's the big difference between McGregor and Brown as captain. You would never see Broony hide in a Hun game.
I want to see a Celtic captain that will stand up to the Hun four square in every game.

He was dog * today, absolutely * hopeless.

But I blame Ange as much as I blame our captain for that.

Ange has to outsmart that Moley Cyrus *.

Whether we play Mcgregor further up the pitch vs them or whatever, Ange has to figure that out.

Today means * all, but we haven't been ourselves vs them since Guacamole took over them.

Maybe I'm being overly picky as we have came out on top when it mattered.

    Still * me off.

Beale's tactics have progressively been nullifying him (and by extension, us) more and more, and that's something Ange will have to address next season. But we were so off it today that most chances we had to break their press were thrown away anyhow. There were times when we found Hatate with all kinds of space in the middle of the pitch, and he'd make some comedy pass to nobody.

CALLUM McGREGOR believes Celtic’s ‘unacceptable’ loss to Rangers is a timely reminder there are no meaningless derbies.

Already crowned Premiership winners after beating Hearts last week, the Parkhead captain confessed the champions were ‘miles off’ the required standard as strikes from Todd Cantwell, John Souttar and Fashion Sakala earned the home side a deserved victory at Ibrox.

Rangers had previously made a bad habit of failing to capitalise on big opportunities in these matches, but they ruthlessly punished Celtic with a trio of goals McGregor believes arrived at crucial times in the game.

The result means little in the context of this season, but the Parkhead skipper is adamant that is no excuse for not delivering a performance for their fans. He expects Rangers to mount a stronger challenge next season, and insists Celtic must be ready to further improve themselves.

“We were miles off our usual level,” the 29-year-old midfielder said. “And that’s what happens in this type of game if you’re not at the races, you give yourself a lot to do.

“They scored at good times in the game and that took it away from us. We have to take our medicine, accept that we were poor, that we didn’t deserve anything out of the game.

“We just didn’t perform. If you turn up and play like that you can’t expect to get anything out of the game.

“Home advantage always plays a part in this game. They score early, it gives them a lift and gives the crowd a lift.

“We made it difficult for ourselves. At times, we’ve been able to come back from that but today we weren’t at the level.

“I don’t think there’s much else to say, other than we had a bad day. We have to understand what that means for us a group, and for the supporters

“It’s unacceptable. We have to dust ourselves down and we’ll go again.

We still have three games to go in the league and a big cup final. When that’s done we start all over again from nothing the following season.

“It’s a timely reminder of what this fixture means all the time, regardless. You expect that from Rangers [to come back stronger next year].

“That’s what the league is: it’s competitive. We’re pushing to get better, they’re pushing to get better.

“Every team is going to improve in the summer and we’re not immune to that either, we have to get better. You see today, if you’re not at the level that’s what can happen.

    “Like I said, it’s a timely reminder.”

Beales strategy was basically man mark Cal and stop him distributing the ball and feeding the AM and as someone else said without GT there to step up and take the ball for Cal it worked. Just like in the Cup semi last year GVB strategy was to "man mark" (rugby tackle) Rogic when Cal tried to feed him so that Tam couldn't create and it worked.

They are going to be tactical to win by trying to nulify our best players then Ange needs to be tactical right back and pre empt what they are going to do. CCV and GT being out and their replacements not stepping up put Cal under a lot more pressure on top of him being man marked so he was basically being pressed from both directions.

I would have more respect for him if he said I am donating my weeks wages to the Celtic trust after the unacceptable performance yesterday.

The unacceptable loss is due to the arrogance of a manager who thinks his system will work all the time.

They swamp the midfield, they always have and today we had a rookie centre forward, the show pony was off it and so was the other winger from the flea circus whom were never going to help the midfield. O’Reily was more languid than Bitton on a slow day, Hatate isn’t back up to speed yet so Callum was simply outnumbered.

They did their job well yesterday, they got at us and outnumbered us.

How Ange didn’t know their only approach before the game is beyond me and to leave it beyond half time is criminal.

Ralston was poor, Yuki was Bambi on ice and Bernebei is *, just *. I thought Oh had something about him, but he’s young inexperienced and * too. Nowhere what we need.

We were half a coherent team down with that line up and all we have done is given them something to believe in and cling on to when they should have been beaten and demoralised.

    It’s never a nothing game.

Callum didn’t stand a chance yesterday with that disgraceful performance from the dugout to the team.

I am livid at that showing yesterday. We never stop? We didn’t even * start yesterday. What’s the point in doing what we do to then let them beeeze past us yesterday? Yeah the league is won, but we’ve not got more than 75% performance level against them since September.

We have got by them recently, but yesterday they turned it on us.

Ange simply has to adapt to different challenges otherwise our arses will be handed to us yet again in Europe.

    Aye awright pal.

Answer me this what did Beale, who needs to start trying to build a squad who can compete with us over a season not in a dead rubber derby, learn about his current squad from yesterdays match? The sqaure root of eff all.

You say we have given them something to believe in over the summer and given their squad is dug meat I'm struggling to understand why you see that as a bad thing.

As you detail Ange on the other hand learned a great deal about which fringe players can hack it, which can't and what areas we need to strengthen over the summer. Without doing what he did yesterday in a game that counted for puff he would be going into pre season still asking himself those questions. Now he knows, now he can build a stronger and better team a team he no doubt will be hoping can compete in Europe too.

McGregor didn’t hide, he just played poorly. Brown had plenty of those against the Huns.

Think he really missed having Taylor to step up into the middle and take some pressure off, when teams try to press or mark McGregor out of the game he always provides an extra passing option to help free up McGregor a bit.

    Revisionism at its peak here.

Many of Scott Brown’s worst games for Celtic were against Rangers.
