we cried out for a wanyama type player - an enforcer to win breaking balls, frustrate etc..a player like sangare from psv would allow mc gregor more time to do things and take away some responsibility.

away from home we need 2 x holding midfielders - hatate and o riley dont do the dirty works, in europe against more technical players you need extra support and box to box desire to try and keep in the games.

Or stikers and wingers could just try putting away some of the 15 odd chances our system creates for them. Chances we would not be able to make with 2 holding midfielders.

Aye, our lack of clinical finishing has been a real frustration lately, considering how we started the season.

Ange saying his injury isn’t a short term one. Indicating it could be serious * brilliant

Time for other players to seriously step up in his absence, then.

Fan media saying no update because scan results aren’t back until later and Sky saying he’s away to see a specialist…

It's a moan and it's negative bcoz we lost a vital goal that was easily preventable.

Should i just be a good little fan and toe the party line that everything is wonderful.

This isnt North Korea mate. People are allowed opinions. Dont like it you know what to do

Disaster if he’s out long term.

Season has taken a real downturn the last few weeks. Desperately need a good performance and win tomorrow.

Loosing the goal from it is the least of our worries. Concerning that that is your priority atm.

You can’t exaggerate enough how big a blow this is.

Him and CCV are two of the most irreplaceable players in our squad.

You never know Mooy, Turnbull and Abildgaard may step up to the plate and excel with a run of games. But no one has the same skillset and leadership qualities that McGregor does.

Fingers crossed it’s not a season ending injury - if its a case of two months it won’t be that bad because of the WC break.

Never read much into his interviews especially regarding injuries. It’s clear it’s no short term now and he won’t feature on Tuesday. But let’s not get into a panic until someone actually knows what’s wrong because right now no one does. Could be good news and be a 3/4 week job or terrible news and be 6 months. Let s just wait and see.

If it is long term but like Jullien maybe better to let a lost cause go and not make the challenge

Lest its only 6 weeks until the Break! But huge games until then, will be a massive miss! Need pretty much everyone to return to form ASAP.

Yeah after the game it certainly is. Losing Mcgregor for any length of time is a disaster. We've saw before how much we struggle without him. We had what I thought were 2 winnable games at home in champions league coming up but without him I'm nowhere near as confident. Others will need to step up but there's very few who can do what he does in terms of dictating the tempo and leading us.

I'm a huge fan of Mcgregor and think he's a fantastic player doesn't mean he's above critiscim of he makes mistakes and as iv pointed out several times I don't think it's solely his fault. It's more a consequence of playing someone who's not a natural DM in that role. I get why he plays there due to everything he does bring to the team and you'd lose that playing a more defensive player. I don't know what the solution is it's a catch 22 situation.

I make no apologies tho for being * off watching us concede avoidable goals in europe as its been same old story for many years.
