He’s a special once in a generation talent in Scottish terms. That’s as high praise as you can give him.

Hopefully his legacy is more Scottish players being brought through with his technical ability.

The rat will always, unfortunately, have to be given credit for the way he transformed CalMac. Been quite a surreal rise to the first team. His performances are never below a 7/10. Even against Rangers at the end of 2019, he was absolutely our best player. I never really got to see or appreciate the Maestro and I wouldn’t think about comparing them. However, without seeing much of Paul McStay, I feel CalMac is the new McStay. All we can hope is that he becomes the new captain when Broony does retire and what we are witnessing is another legend. Looks like he will be on the verge of another 60 odd games this season. Hasn’t be done that for about 4 years? Shocking fitness and commitment from him. We all forget as well, isn’t he only 25 still? I mean, he has the potential to be here for another 9 years?! Unbelievable

    Since Dubai he's been immense

I actually thought he was having a very substandard season up until then. Hopefully he carries on this form

Didn't have his best game, but did a lot of work, even notice that about Oli.

But it's good seeing him getting into the box as he was great at getting spaces and nabbing a goal.

Love that Lenny’s let him off the leash, didn’t like him being the defensive type last year.

He certainly suits the 3-5-2 system. Like somebody said above, had a fairly poor 1st half of the season for his high standards but certainly a contender for our best since the winter break!

Agree he is the obvious choice as next Celtic captain when Broony does hang up his boots. Your close on age he is 26 now turns 27 at the end of the season so really like Forrest who is just a bit older then him he is just about to enter his peak career years now over the coming 4-5 years.

I think given his recent purple patch, it can be reasonable said that calmac is at his best when he can get forward and be more involved in attacks.
There seemed to be some feeling a while back that he would be best used as a holding midfielder, and whilst i wouldnt disagree that he could do a job there, his best highlights come from his creativity, possession and goals.

I think the biggest compliment we can give Callum is everytime he seems to pick up a new role, people are claiming that’s where he’s at his best.
