    If any player proves how * backwards this country is in footballing terms it’s him.

    He’d get into far better national squads than Scotland but he’s now coming into his peak years with a handful of caps under his belt.

    The problem with Scotland the preferred mid to front for Ecosse don’t seem to have a core of players who can see McGregors train of thought and are playing 20 seconds behind. No use having one forward thinking player in there.

    He reminds me of a Jack Russell, he's always on the go, literally non-stop all game. He can change direction with pace, he's direct. Off the ball he may not be the greatest tackler but he's constantly nipping away at the toes of players on the ball. One thing about his personality, he always looks happy and keen - he has a smasher of an attitude on the park, such an unselfish player.

    Have to say, him and Rogic in the same team, takes us to a technical level that at times is simply breath taking!

    I've said from when I first watched him play, he has elements of Xavi and Iniesta to his game. By no means am I saying he is at that level but I do believe if he grew up in the Barca youths and coached in a country where his skillset is predominant and encouraged more than in Scotland, he'd be a world class player.

    Needs a rest imo. Not for fitness but for his match sharpness. He's lacking a bit of the inciciveness thats made him such a threat over the last few years.

    Hes not the only one tbf. Some amount of games they've had to play.

    * hot potato stuff but he wasn't alone and i think he's easily influenced by others doing the same. Just needs to calm down a bit, as others do, in these games. That mob were nothing special imo and Calmac on his game has every right to be on that park......just think he needs to believe it a bit more himself!! We know he's got it!!

    And shouldn't be expected to, Brown's defensive strengths are probably the weakest parts of McGregor's game, they're completely different players.

    Anyone suggesting he isn't European class or he hides when we step up is talking pure and utter pish.

    Sorry to be blunt and aw that but that's the truth. The guy has consistently proved himself for Celtic in big European games for years now.

    Brown could play for 100 years and wouldn't score a goal that gets us points in a European game not like McGregor. Total different players.
