Not on early season form surely? McGregor has been outstanding for us thus far.

I'm a bit sick of it to be honest. Commons has overall been an outstanding servant to Celtic and is undoubtedly one of Celtic's best players, yet folk seem happy to throw him on the scrap heap with the emergence of – and admittedly exciting – youth player.

Under Lennon commons was our biggest threat and was incredible last season. But now under a new manager with new tactics new philosophies and certain physical attributes required I thinkjt feel commons fits into this plan in the long run.

I think for now commons will be used as the third midfielder playing behimd the striker but eventually he will be seen less and less as he is not fast enough, doesnt do the pressing game very well and his first touch isnt great.

Ronny is creating a team full of pace and high on fitness for his brand of football and I am all for it. If commons can adapt he may well stay in the team but Ronny isnt scared to change players who he sees doesnt work in his system.

Naismith is absolute quality and by Premiership level yardsticks as well.

We wouldn't have scored the first goal against St Johnstone had it not been for Commons pressing high up the park. He is embracing the new way of playing. He's never going to put in the same amount as a Johansen or Brown though and neither he should - he's not that type of player.

If hes never going to put in the same amount of effort as a johansen or brown then he wont last as thats what Ronny expects. Pressing in every area of the pitch. Not comparing us to barca but look at there strikers over the last few years, they all run around pressing like scott brown when they dont have thr ball until its retreived. I guess thats the aim for us without possession.

Thank * we never accepted that 850k bid from Wolves in June.

Easily worth a few million just now in today's current market.

Same I always thought he was average. I do think having players like Lukaku who not only scores but sets goals up is great for Naismith.

Aren't we getting just a little carried away? He has played 3 league games.

    I'm not picky.
He's played 3 leagues games so far and has played well in all of them, and has scored one goal so far.

Played in all 5 of our Champions League games so far as well as has scored 3 goals with 1 assist. I know sometimes stats aren't everything but he has actually been playing well along with all of that.

I was of the mindset that some people were getting carried away at the start of the season but after seeing more of him and that he has been one of our better players, I think we have definitely got a wee gem on our hands.

Just hope that he can keep it going.

Sure, I agree, I hope he matures into a wee gem as well and we can keep him for as long as possible, but the point is other players at "wee" clubs do the same, but no call up. Mark Reynolds at Aberdeen plays in a position that we are crying out for, still nothing. Stevie May scored a barrel load last year for St Johnstone, still nothing. There was talk not long ago that we were looking at Reynolds, now be honest, if Reynolds was playing for us and McGregor was at Aberdeen, who would be in the latest Scotland squad?

McGregor is performing at Champions League qualifying level for a massive club at a young age. That's why Strachan feels he's ready for international level.
