What i find laughable and find weird is that when i, and fans who share my opinions on Strachans coaching and tactical abilties and also call into question his eye for a player along with his capabilties and qualities in being able to take the club forward, it sends some other fans into a kinda "we must protect Gordon" mode and they get all defensive and accuse others of having a hidden agenda for wanting him out.:54:

They dont take long in rhyming of ALL of the teams Memorable performances under Strachan like the Benfica home game and the odd quality performane in the SPL. Im talking performaces BTW NOT just achieving the result.
Unfortunately for them we can rhyme of the AWAY games against Benfica, Artmedia and Shaktar and dare i said it MORDOR! as prime examples of his ineptitude.
Mybe thats why they always end up bringing MON into the thread.
They cant defend Strachans obvious weaknesses so they attack a manager who has gone.:38:

I'd prefer MON anytime myself mate but that subject should be on a different thread. I dont see why threads on Strachan and his team should always be hijacked and menipulated into a Strachan Vs MON thread:54:

Definitelly, although he had a poor final season, for the obvious reason that family comes first, he done a great job. Broke the huns stranglehold on the scottish game.

You asked a question lubo. what were GS's credentials when he arrived??

Well for a start he done the exact same as Martin oneill, was with a medicore team in Leicester and southampton, 2 of them took there clubs into the top half of the premiership, look at them now. Only diffrence is Mon won league cup, but if you remember back then full teams were not getting played in that competition , wgs took southampton to a fa cup final. Similar back ground.

Dr Josef Venglos did he have the credential to manage celtic.

    Did Wim Jansen?

    Did Tommy Burns?

    Did John Barnes?

What is those credentials to manage celtic, A good celtic man like Tommy burns who won 1 cup in 3 years. but wait, walter smith must be a bad manager because it was a pish celtic team.

What about Wim Jansen, how dare he sneak in the back door after a good celtic man like tommy burns, how dare he.

Below was what this top rated irishman had acheived before we managed his capture.
    Managerial career

After his playing career, O'Neill began a sensational career in football management, initially at Grantham Town in 1987. After a brief spell at the helm of Shepshed Charterhouse, he managed non-league Wycombe Wanderers, and took them into the Football League as Conference champions in 1993. They had narrowly missed out on promotion the previous year after a two-horse race with Colchester United. [1]. He became manager of Norwich City in the summer of 1995, but left the club in December of that year due to differences with club chairman Robert Chase.

    [edit] Leicester City

He joined Leicester City immediately after leaving Norwich. After a difficult start he achieved great success at the club, gaining promotion via the play-offs to the Premiership in the same season as joining the club. Leicester finished in the top half of the Premiership in every season O'Neill was manager. They also won the Football League Cup under O'Neill in 1997 and 2000, as well as reaching the 1999 final of the competition. They finished ninth in 1997, tenth in 1998 and 1999, and eighth in 2000. The two League Cup triumphs saw them qualify for the UEFA Cup each time, though both campaigns were short-lived.
During his time at Leicester, O'Neill held talks to become manager of Leeds United but declined the job after thousands of supporters held up placards saying "Don't go Martin!" in an effort to make him stay.

    and now for the strachstar

    Early career as a manager

    [edit] Coventry City

When Ron Atkinson became Coventry City's Director of Football in November 1996, Gordon Strachan was promoted to the manager's seat. He finally retired as a player at the end of the season after making his last appearance at the age of 40, at the time a record in the English Premiership. Strachan also helped the Sky Blues pull off perhaps the most unlikely relegation survival in Premiership history. After losing their penultimate Premiership game, it looked as though their 30-year top flight tenancy had come to an end. But thanks to a victory on the final day, and defeats for Middlesbrough (who had been deducted 3 points by the F.A) and Sunderland, they pulled off a miracle survival. Strachan kept Coventry safe from relegation until 2001, when they finally went down after 34 years of top division football. He was sacked shortly after the start of the 2001-02 Division One campaign.

    [edit] Southampton

Gordon Strachan returned to management within weeks, taking the manager's job at Premiership strugglers Southampton - who had sacked manager Stuart Gray after a terrible start to their first season at the new St Mary's Stadium. Most pundits had already written them off come Strachan's appointment in October 2001, but he turned round their Premiership fortunes and they finished 11th in the Premiership. The Saints progressed further in 2002-03 when they finished eighth and reached the FA Cup final, where they lost 1-0 to Arsenal. But since Arsenal had qualified for the UEFA Champions League, Southampton qualified for the 2003-04 UEFA Cup

In my opinion MON's CV is by far the best, from the moment he arrived he was tipped for every job down south as he was so highly rated.

Lubo, you took a while to reply there mate, surley your did not go and do a search there mate.

Just seems to me mate, that you dont like the guy as a person.

Who cares both of there back ground before they came to celtic, as long as we are winning cups in scotland and getting respect in europe.

Thats good enough for me anyway.

You still never answered my last post about credentials mate. think that was a very good reply.

Hoopy i gave you a perfect answer on our debate, and yes i searched wikipedia and read it first. Cheers for the Acknowladgement.

As for Wim, wee fergus appointed him, as with the others. THAT is a whole new debate, but bare in mind MON took us to another level as did the board and the fans, we were in a position to attract the best on offer when GS was appointed. For me we took the cheep option. Simple really.

So Fergus is a muppet?? is Peter lawwell for appointing wgs?

Am sure you said in another thread that 1 of the reason you dont like strachan is because he sneaked in the back door.

Lubo Mon was a great, a legand, but just remember mate, it was a diffrent eara. A henrik larsson can change any team and with £12m back up, you can go places.

And it was tounge and cheek there me saying about Jansen. You knew that.

You asked for credentials, just made a bit of a point there mate.

i dunno ,but lubo and hoopy talk the talk, anyway i dont no dont know were is stand the now regarding wgs ,if he is manager next season as lawell as allredy stated he will be come what may in the league, it depends a lot on who he brings in during the summer ,theres got to be a lot of money made available if celtic do that ,they have done there job ,then its down to manager to see how wisely he spends the money ,he cannot afford to make any big mistakes as in certain players who are there just now and i would like to see moved on.the poll is a bit pointless and i dont mean that in a bad way or any intent, but lawell has said no matter what wgs will be manager , but as ive said depending on the ins and outs, any big *-ups should see wgs moved out as well ,
