Brown for 6 million? (reposted here too)

I will put him in the plane myself, we can get * refaelov who is ten time more techinical and better player then broony in the right wing for 3 mil, and that leaves us with another 3 mil to spend on quality player.

The capten will be wilson or maj next year, and in this year kayal would get more experience in the team, and he will be ready to be real leader in his third(mayby final:( ) year.

Not ill thought out in the slightest.

First of all how many games did Ledley play at left back (or ''LEFT BACK'' as you call it)? Was it enough to apparently appease your ridiculous goal scoring expectations? Apparently so. Also, Ledley's goal to game ratio was 6 to Brown's 9, hardly a big difference.

Second of all, Mark Wilson and Scott Brown scored the same number of goals against Rangers last season (that would be 1, by the way).

Thirdly, Brown was fantastic at right midfield last season and like Charlie Mulgrew excelled when moved out of his usual role.

    And finally, you said:

Despite the fact that Kayal is NOT a defensive midfielder, your assertion about the goals to game ratio is simply not true.

Last season Brown had a goals to game ration of 1 goal in every 9 matches (9.5) and Kayal had a ratio of 1 goal in every 15 games.

1 goal per 9 games is MORE than 1 goal per 15. And in terms of pure numbers Brown scored 4 goals to Kayal's 2.

dont know where you are getting your figures from mate.im refering to the stats posted on this forum about minutes on the pitch to goals ratios in the league-scott brown had the worst ratio and the most minutes of any of our midfielders bar,say freddie-who hardly featured, fair enough about wilson,i thought he scored twice against the manky mob-fact stll stands he scored the same amount of league goals as brown-2-kinda return you might expect from a full back, kayal had a lot less game time,as did ledley and ki and maloney and mccourt-even mcginn-all trumped the mighty brown in the goal ratio final stats-he doesnt score enough-its only the spl ffs!

    To clear up any stats.

In the SPL Brown scored 2 goals and made 6 assists in 28 games. Kayal scored 2 goals and made 0 assists in 21 games. Brown hit 29 shots, Kayal hit 23 shots. Brown was booked 6 times, Kayal was booked 10 times, Brown was sent off once, Kayal wasnt sent off.

Overall for them for Celtic in the SPL

    Brown 119 games 11 goals 20 assists
    Kayal 21 games 2 goals 0 assists

It's not Brown's job to score.

He is not a goal scoring midfielder, his job is not to score goals. My figures take into account all competitions, such as the Scottish cup where Brown curled the ball past McGregor and earned us a draw with 10 men, a game in which he was outstanding by the way because of his ability to put pressure on the midfield, pick out a pass, chase down the opponents and force them into mistakes.

2 completely different types of player, football is not the absurdly simplistic game you apparently think it is.

fair enough mate,at the start of the season the general consensus was the league title was vital-it was the only one i was really bothering about-and i just dont think brown contributed enough-think about it,the last time we won the league was when suspension forced him out the team

No the same number :86: Commons is an attacking midfielder though, Brown is a box-to-box workhorse player. You dont expect players like Brown, Darren Fletcher, Mascherano, Gattuso to score 10 a season, they are there so that other players have the freedom to go and do that.

Players like Brown are needed in every team, they are the driving force of the team.

Davis from the huns is seen as a more creative and attacking player, who also delivers corners and freekicks. His SPL stats are hardly much better than Brown

    Brown 119 games 11 goals 20 assists
    Davis 120 games 14 goals 32 assists

Hes only averages 3 assists and 1 goal more than Brown per season yet is supposed to be a creative forward thinking player. So Brown doesnt do too badly :50:

I don't recall Brown being suspended for an entire season. Also Brown played his best football when played at RM which was around Christmas time, he underperformed before that but so did everyone as evidenced by the 3 home draws in a row where Lennon got his tactics wrong.

You just don't get football at all do you? Gary Hoopers scored more goals in his career than Paulo Maldini he must be a better player then eh?

It's about tactics. Scott Brown does his job very well, so well infact when he isn't playing we don't * win.

You're telling me you know the exact tactical instructions issued to the players by Neil Lennon himself just by the simple fact that they play on opposite flanks? They do not, and never have, had the same job on the pitch.

we were losing the league until he was suspended-you just being awkard for the sake of it?honestly mate-if brown and donati remained in midfield to the end of that season do you really think we would have done 3 in a row?
