At £6M I'd be tempted to cash in, I'd bite their hand off for £7.5-8M though. I know he is our captain and his fighting spirit has been important to us, but I simply do not believe that Scott Brown, with all of his limitations, will take us any further than he already has. I can't see him dominating the midfield against good teams in Europe and think he would find himself out of his depth in England. The numbers show that we win more games when he plays but I'm not really one for stats, they can be manipulated to prove almost any point.

I don't think we should be improving his £25,000 a week wage, I've no problem with us keeping him, but he is earning enough, there are more important contracts to sort out this summer, ie Kayal and Izaguirre.

6million ? Sell him in an instant.

Kayal is 10 times the player he is , that would free up wages to go towards a new deal for the israeli. Then bring in another quality midfield player.

We would be better of without him.

Bit unfair to be saying people on here don't have a clue, hes got an opinion just like everybody else, i agree and disagree to be honest, Brown at the moment won't get a game in central midfield over Ki, Kayal or Ledley, so that meant he was pushed out wide and it really made celtic more solid after christmas.

If he is to stay and continue playing in that position then he needs to remember not to cut inside to often because he left wilson badly exposed at times towards the end of the season when he drifted inside which to him is a natural thing to do i suppose but next year he will have to sort of learn that wide midfield role a bit better.

Id like to keep him though, he will improve his deficiencies next season and we will have a player who gives 110% all the time, and gives us a bit of dirty grit in the midfield, players don't like playing against brown and he needs to learn to take more advantage of that, you can see it on the pitch whether psychologically or physically brown winds the opponents up and we can use that to our advantage.

Him drifting inside is to cover when Commons goes forward into a front three. So we have three in midfield at all times.

    Pretty effective.

This would be a great boost ahead of next season if we had both Brown and Lennon signing new contracts soon. Brown for me was excellent when he moved to the right and you feel under Lennon that Brown could grow to become an absolute inspiration for the team. At least that is how I see it. I would be delighted if this happens.

if we where offered 6 million, i would take it and with that money go out and buy someone else, or offer seb larsson a good contract(they if he has a few good seasons we could sell him to make more money cause he is on a free and is only 25-26) cause he would be a much better right mid who will not cut inside and leave wilson with 2 men bombing down the left hand side

He's effective for us as long as he's kept shifted out to the right.

    * please no, we are giving him an extra 5,000 a week based on a few good games, he is a crap player, if Newcastle were willing to pay 5 or 6 million we should have bitten their hands off for it, now this headless chicken will be on 25,000 - 30,000 a week while bringing us down with his horrible play, all the while we are unwilling to give kayal a new deal

Firstly, Newcastle won't be offering us 6 million for Brown anytime soon.

Secondly, every man and their dog knows that Celtic will be offering Kayal a new deal in the very near future. We are anything but unwilling.

"It's understood that Brown WILL turn his back on the cash-rich Premiership by pledging his future to Celts."

This makes me a happy bhoy.

he's got the lowest goals to games ratio of any of our midfield this season-probably true for every season he's been here. 2 league goals the season just past-not good enough for a celtic midfielder imo,kayal-ledley-ki-mccourt-mcginn-commons-maloney-forrest all had better goal ratios.if we can get as much as £6 million for an average player we would be daft not to gleefully accept
