Cheers mate. Sorry, I wasn't clear in my post :52: - the bit where I said it doesn't mean it's Lennon's fault wasn't aimed at anyone on here and I'm not picking up that vibe from this forum or anyone other than those who'd try and defend the indefensible. I'd heard it said a bit over the last few days as an argument against a sectarian motive by those who'd suggest Lennon brings it on himself - that's why I said "in some respects". I totally appreciate that it's a valid question to ask from our perspective too - I just view the question as "why now" rather than "why neil, why not martin".

One thing that was said to me this week (after I'd got someone to agree Neil didn't bring this on himself) was that if he was quiet for a bit it wouldn't aggravate those who want to react. I've been pondering that for a while and concluded that I don't think they're really reacting to Neil. I think they're reacting to their own prejudice and choosing to act against him. And using anything he does as a poor excuse - like the ear cupping or, horror of horrors, celebrating a goal or kicking some water bottles. Maybe that's overthinking things.

Your point about something bigger going on is interesting. I don't know why it's happening now but I hope there is real change from the reaction to it. I really hope this is Scotland waking up to say it's time to stop because watching this happening is sickening

"cos heez a pyoor * min"

I've heard the same quotation on numerous occasions. It's only the words of silly uneducated delinquents that doesn't have a good excuse to why Neil "deserves" what has been done.

It's quite obvious to why he gets this vile abuse.

It's total jealously, when they get beaten, they can only react with violence, nothing else. They can't take it on the chin and move on. So simply they are just bad losers.

So the answer is a massive NO, he does not bring it on himself. its just bad losers that cant take it and want to hurt him, not only him, players and fans.

I am getting the feeling that if Celtic won the title on sunday, and the huns witnessing Neil with the trophy in his hands, all * would rise for us, and the streets of glasgow would not be safe if you wore the colour green and white, and matters would only get worse for neil because of their jealously for his sucess.

Why Lennon, McGinn, McCourt, McBride and your one Godman

Why this year, well it has to be the build up.

When Ranger got that penalty when the Ref wasn’t looking, this was the start of the campaign, blood started to boil at Tynecastle a couple of weeks later.

Then the infamous game up a Tannadice.

    Ref strikes

    Ref’s being sacked or resigning

Celtic starting to get the better of Rangers, Rangers thinking our ploy worked.

The Rangers fans couldn’t take it anymore; there little club looking to be in debt to the tune of £40 Mil to the Inland Revenue. Added with the Fact Celtic where getting the better of the SFA.

The media where getting * off with this as well, stories coming out on a daily basis regarding the conduct of Neil Lennon and how it doesn’t seem appropriate.

Everyone starts to pick up on this and believe it. Jim Jefferies came out with a comment that he retaliated to from what a media group tried to suggest Neil Lennon said, this then causing the pressure pot that turned up to Tynecastle the other night.

People are idiots, not just rangers fans, sure not just football fans. Every day we pick a paper up and read the headlines from the tabloids and we believe it, or most do.

There are still people today who think that if it is in the paper, it must be true. This leads to a dangerous world for the likes of Lennon and all this “he brought it on himself” it is then justified because they hear it coming from prominent figures in the media.

Like anything else in life, the more you get of something the more the need to develop it.
This problem has been infesting along from hating a man to sending him and others who are associated with him, letter bombs, their hatred was not enough to warn him off and the * for tat that Lennon has been sparring with them over the year has lead to where we are now.

The problem is, some people don’t know when to stop.

It is not acceptable to start slapping the wife about the place just because she is giving you as good she gets in an argument.

Same rules apply here; the wife doesn’t bring domestic violence on herself, likewise Neil Lennon and touchline attacks and bomb threats should bare the same principle.
