2 1 at fir park-- you are a wee idiot.

His reluctance to actually form a partnership with anyone whilst here--- he didn't form a partnership with JVOH:97:

His leaking of information form inside the dressing room to his journo pals--desperate attempt to tar someones name without any way of backing that up

His consistent lip and disrespect now he has gone--- What lip or disrespect I haven't seen any disrepect.

I mean that is a contender for worst post of the year so far.

Fair dinkum. What a load of rot.

First off, I seriously can't believe that you are holding a grudge from 2005 - when he was playing for Motherwell, and as a professional his job is to play to be best of his ability. Lets not forget that, after the final OF game that year Celtic didn't need too many points to secure the lead, and yet threw it away, against Hibs etc. Even on that final day at Fir Park, Celtic failed to build on that early Sutton strike, missing some absolute sitters along the way.

Secondly, he did form a very effective partnership with JVOH, and it was injuries to the JVOH that curtailed this last season. He was frustrated by Sammy at times, but then again a cursory glance at the Sammy thread will see how exasperating that he can be to watch, let alone play along side. And remember last season, he virtually had to single handedly carry the goal threat, as Sammy & JVOH contributed something like 1 goal between them in 4 MONTHS !!!

Additionally, have you noticed, until the last 2-3 weeks or so, how poor McGeady has been since Skippy's departure? The two of them have a very good understanding, and it has taken the past few months for McGeady to get to know Keane's runs etc.

Although he liked the publicity and would often be good for a comment to certain members of the press, he is far from being the only player guilty of this. And this includes the 'Brown' article, where it is believed that Jackson didn't exactly have to go too far from the source for the basis of that piece.

Fair enough, he has made a couple of comments about Celtic, and the circumstances surrounding his departure, but he isn't the only one. Caldwell & Robbo have also spoken since their departure, as did JVOH & Hartley in the summer.

He may not have been the very chiseled image of Adonis, and may have an * like Fatso, the fat * wombat, but it didn't stop him from finding his way to goal. The fact that in 2 full seasons he was our top scorer, and this season he is STILL our leading scorer 3 MONTHS after he last appeared in the Hoops is a damning indictment of our other striking stocks, Keane excluded.

I'm not suggesting he should come back. He scored some very important goals for us, but his time is over, and now needs to focus on scoring goals for Boro and the Socceroos. However, I suspect that, for whatever reason, you have a dislike of McDonald, and like sand in your shoe feel he is a suitable target for your ire. You are entitled to your opinion of course, but those are some pretty flimsy reasons for such a diatribe.

I was always disappointed that he left us. He gave us 20+ goals a season and he loves the club. I remember seeing him in an interview on the pitch at Celtic Park either at the end of last season or start of this one and someone asked him jokingly if he wanted to come back and he couldn't hide it in his answer that he would love to.

But, can he still deliver now? Possibly, I wouldn't want us to fork out anything over £1m for him though.

Shame we never got to see Hooper and McDonald in the same team, with the likes of Commons and Forrest feeding them from the wings.

    Free transfer?

Why not? Offer a 6 month contract/pay as you play and see how he gets on.

Loved him minus the double he scored against us. Too late for him to come here now. He's well past his best.
