Ridiculous that Brendan Rodgers can be criticised by anyone. Everyone is looking to further themselves in their career, no matter what line of work they're in.

    Good luck to him.

The simple matter is that Liverpool are a much bigger club than swansea, and rogers has done a cracking job getting Swansea to where they are just now. But every manager wants a bigger challenge and Liverpool are a huge challenge. He would be daft not to take the job.

I do however feel for the Swansea fans. They've lost a top manager there and will reall struggle to replace him

Any manager with ambition could hardly fail to be tempted by such an offer.

    I really don't blame him.

But he's going to find the pressure much different at Anfield than he's used to.

Don't blame him at all, hope he gets time to sort out the mess at Liverpool because more than likely it will take longer than a season

I think he could turn into an AVB at Liverpool. No doubt he's a brilliant tactician, but he's still a pretty young and inexperienced manager, so he may find it difficult to manage the egos. If he can get the players playing the way he wants then he'll be fine, but we all saw what happened to AVB and Hodgson when they failed to win the support of the dressing room.

again, just like Martinez its not what he did, its the way he did it

an absolute hero, best manager we've ever had and seemingly was the greatest man in football, a truly humble, down to earth man who had a great love for the people of our area and couldnt stop himself from speaking in glowing terms about our corner of the world...he had us believing.

i want our next manager to come in and say "i hate swansea, its a shithole, im just using you as a stepping stone, you fans are a pile of *" rather than these quotes from the last 6months

his stock was higher than ever just last week when he turned down the chance for an interview! then booosh...gone. just like that

I can totally understand your anguish and frustration that you have lost another manager to a bigger club. I think you have to try and not take this so personally though.

I am pretty sure Brendan Rodgers meant every last word of the nice things he's said about Swansea and it's people in the past. There is probably part of him that is gutted to be leaving Swansea and that feels he is letting the Swansea fans down by going.

But on the other side of the coin you have the Liverpool job. It is still one of the biggest jobs in English football, maybe even in European football. This opportunity may never come along for Brendan Rodgers again, he HAS to take it. What would happen if he stayed at Swansea and Swansea were terrible next season and got relegated? His managerial stock would plummet. He'd have no chance of being considered for a job like Liverpool manager.

I know it's a bitter pill to swallow but try not to think too badly of Brendan Rodgers. I'm sure it is with a heavy heart that he will be leaving Swansea.

Swansea City can confirm that Liverpool will not be allowed to make transfer bids for any players at the Liberty Stadium for the next 12 months.

The clause was included in the compensation agreement finalised last night between the two clubs following the departure of manager Brendan Rodgers from the Liberty Stadium to Anfield.

"We have got some protection, which I think is the right thing,'' said Swans chairman Huw Jenkins, who was met with media speculation linking a number of the squad with Anfield moves this morning.
