Brendan Rodgers Discussion Thread

I appreciate him not beating around the bush regarding our current squad, but there was no real reason for it to get to this stage.

Obviously the CB situation is unfortunate, but I feel like it was clear in pre-season that Taylor and Hart weren't good enough, and Jota should have been replaced no more than 2 weeks after he left, to still not have a replacement is silly.

Palma looks good, but with Tierney going to Sociedad and Celtic not contacting Arsenal at all this window, you have to wonder who we've been waiting on.

1 week left of the window, GK, LB, LW and CB needed, CM would be nice but that's not happening this window, get a move on Celtic.

 

Football has moved on from his stubborn tiki tragic style of play. There is no need for our midfield to be taking 4-5 touches in the transition , it's basically nullified what was once a good counter attacking team and replaced it with possession at all costs. Doesn't make sense to completely change Ange's system when all he needed was to tweak it to make it more defensively sound.

Let's get this straight. Brendan Rodgers, this wonderful human being, with great character and impressive football intellect, looked at the team he has inherited. He has seen a team who have had great success playing an intense, quick and purposeful brand of football. Naturally he has thought this high tempo is no good. That ain't going to fly here. That purposeful passing is guff, get some nice sideways and backwards passes in there. Let's not forget he's a master at improving players. He sees Kyogo. What movement! What a goalscorer! Nobody in the league better than him at making runs and finding space in the 6 yard box. Nah, that's * and won't work. You're going to drop deep but the wingers won't come inside, you've got the tectonic plates O'Riley and Turnbull blazing past you, get passing son. This is great

 

I want him gone he's put us back years

 

He loses next week, and I think we sadly will, and I think things turn nasty.
