We probably won't even beat St Johnstone. Expect another performance like Sunday and not being able to break them down

 

I feel Brendan is a little bit timid at the minute. Usually he is very sure of himself but I think he is a little fearful of a toxic atmosphere developing with the support. The team looks a bit lost, I don't know what our style or gameplan is. Maybe a few big signings will lift the mood but at the minute it all feels very flat.

We're beating St Johnstone ffs

 

Its on of these 3 scenarios imo:

1. The board told Rodgers he wouldn't get proper money on quality signings and he agreed as he thought coming up here would be a doddle like last time and wanted to rebuild his reputation again. Thus underestimating the current challenge.

2. Rodgers has been going in hard on trying to sign EPL players and has misread how difficult that market is for us. Instead of moving onto other targets we were too fixated on getting the players Rodgers wanted from England and it hasn't happened, we're now scrambling for alternatives.

3. Rodgers came back and was promised funds for quality additions. The board/scouting set up have * him over through a combination of incompetence and/or negligence.

 

Looks like a combination of all 3 at the moment. It’s not good enough and the board are sadly mistaken if they think signing Podence is going to make everything alright again, we need at least five QUALITY players. They have backed themselves into a corner and are under real pressure to produce signings with little time left. A perfect recipe to end up with poor players that we have had to pay over the odds for when the window closes, what a * mess. The Celtic fans will have every right to direct their anger at the board and I fully expect them to do so. They can’t get away with this * when we have a very healthy bank balance that should be being used to strengthen a currently poor side.

 

If the lack of rumors is an indicator, perhaps Rodgers didn't like what our scouts suggested, and our transfer window may simply be done already.

 

The confusing part for me is that presumably Rodgers came into the role with some assurances about transfers, the available budget and his role in the process. The inaction makes no sense to me. I don't blame him for it, because there's no manager on the planet that doesn't spend every penny made available to them. So I'm unsure what the issue can be, other than perhaps the club feels we have a big enough squad.

 

Or maybe is too overly sure of himself, and believes its best to wait to the last minute to bring in players that suddenly become within our budget.

Its a risky strategy and it will only pay off if other irons are maintained in the fire.

Its what makes sense, I don't mind if he was doing this with one or two players but we should be bringing in the other 2 or 3 already. If thats option b or c in that case for that position then so be it, because that player wants to be here, has had longer to integrate into the squad and would be giving us options.

 

He'll walk again and don't be surprised if it's sooner than we all think!

2 and 3 are definitely possible and worrying if true. I don't think 1 makes much sense in terms of where he wants his career to go. There's a 4th (the signings are just taking a long time because of things out of our control, such as players and agents stalling) and a 5th (some perfectly reasonable, non-EPL signings have fallen through that we don't know about) option too.

Or some combination of 2, 3, 4 and 5.

 

Some posters have to be at it at this point, like seriously.

 

So he's still here, and still done * all of note in the transfer market.

So apart from sunbeds, what's the * been doing since Sunday?

How the * is he supposed to motivate players?

 

Well he hasn't done it yet, so it's not * soon enough for me.
