I actually miss the inverted fullbacks. It gave McGregor more protection in midfield too

    I'm deflated personally.

In the last three games I've watched the match only, I can't listen to any build up or any post match comments from Rodgers, I don't even so much watch Sky Sports news like I normally do for background noise, because I'm still working through my bitterness towards him and I just can't listen to his voice.

Agreed. It's just far too early to be saying anything mental.

I get people don't and probably won't ever take to him but not supporting the team just fuels the media and everyone in the rest of the country who wants this to fail as well. Its called supporting your club for a reason, not to be cheesy. There's a time and a place to call for heads, I've done it before!

    Now isn't the time.

This place has been a huns wet dream the past few days. Embarrassing amount of hysteria.

I'm trying to treat him the way I would a brand new manager..

It's difficult for any manager to come in after such success.. Lenny struggled with what to change and what to keep and never really put his own stamp on the team..

Ironic Rodgers finds himself in that position, but he's good enough a coach to sort that and arrogant enough to change things, it will take a bit if time.

You can let it go, though.
You don't have to decide that you're fine with what he did (I'm not, for example. I still say there's no comparison between the professional way Ange left us and the way Rodgers did). You only have to give him the chance to make it right.

To be honest here, mate (and I mean no offence by this, I'm just saying what I think) I remember you posting back in the day so you're clearly not a kid anymore and frankly Rodgers hasn't killed anyone and he hasn't caused serious harm to a member of anyone's family. He simply walked out on us. If you can't let that go after almost 4 years now, you might take a look inside as to why that is. It could even be something as daft as wounded pride (it was in my case).

You are probably correct in fairness, but for now, I won't be listening to a word he says I don't have the bandwidth to listen and take in anything he says right now.

Football in the second half of second season was actually pretty dreadful too. We did have good performances against the huns but there was also a 0-0 at home to them. There were 0-0s at home to St johnstone, Kilmarnock and Dundee as well as a 0-0 away to Motherwell, who played over half the game with 10. There were single goal victories over Hamilton, thistle and hibs. Our biggest margin of victory in the league, outside of the huns 5-0 was 3-0, which we achieved twice at home to Aberdeen and Ross County. We also lost to Kilmarnock, hibs and aberdeen. The football was every bit as turgid in that part of that season as it had been in the other, 3 games against the huns excluded.

Brendan Rodgers has challenged his fringe players to step up after suffering a defensive injury crisis.

Celtic are threadbare at the back after losing Cameron Carter-Vickers, Stephen Welsh, Maik Nawrocki and Yuki Kobayashi to injury. Rodgers is also without Reo Hatate, Oh Hyeun-gyu, Mikey Johnston and Marco Tilio as the Scottish champions' injury problems pile up.

The Hoops have been boosted by Alistair Johnston's return to full training and the Canadian right-back could feature against St Johnstone on Saturday after recovering from ankle surgery. But he could be part of a makeshift rearguard, with new signing Gustaf Lagerbielke and out-of-favour Liam Scales the club's only fit senior centre-backs.

It's a headache Rodgers could do without ahead of next weekend's Glasgow derby at Ibrox but the Northern Irishman expects his back-up players to seize their opportunity

He told Celtic TV: "It's very frustrating. Obviously, you want to have your best players available and clearly that's not the case for us. But you have to get on with it. It's just been the nature over the course of pre-season. We just have to deal with it, we've got lots of capable players in the squad and I'm sure they will step up."

Meanwhile Rodgers has urged his players to forget about Sunday's crushing Viaplay Cup exit to Kilmarnock and get back to winning ways against struggling St Johnstone. The Hoops' defence of the Treble ended with a whimper after a dismal 1-0 defeat at Rugby Park, and while Rodgers was gutted by the result, the Northern Irishman insists his side must earn the right to progress in cup competitions.

he said: "When you lose important games like that, you have to be mentally strong. When you are operating at a big club in particular where the spotlight's on you and the focus is on you, you've got to have that mental strength. That's the first and foremost

Secondly. you have to understand that it's part of football. You cannot win every game. You can't on a year-on-year basis book your holidays on the days of Hampden finals. You cannot do that, you have to get on with it and as a team and group of players they will do that.

"They are very honest to the game, these players, and a lot of them are still very young and learning. So the defeat hurts of course, but then you have to get back on it and re-energise and refocus for the next game

His press conference today was awful
    Ange gave you hope!
Rodgers was all “What players the club sign, I will try to make better”
He kinda looks like he’s doing us a favour
Ange was just so fecking amazing to listen to.
