Ultimately we can forgive if not forget - and the easiest way to gain the supports forgiveness is win football matches and titles.

To quote Roy Keane, "it's his job".

Very happy with the appointment and the way the board have handled it since Ange left.

I never had a real issue with him leaving, just as I don’t have a real issue with Ange leaving.

Agree. I think we can all agree that he did the dirty on us but now's the time to back the man and that sort of protest will only give the SMSM etc. ammunition to attack our club. Oh and the huns are raging (again) which is an added bonus of him coming back

Was expected, it's time to move forward. Everyone spent the last few weeks debating his last tenure and said their piece, it was quite therapeutic for some fans I think on both sides of the debate to have the discussion, I like many was on both sides of the debate, but like always we all meet in the middle and support the team and the man in charge.

GB are of course the GB and still emotionally compromised after everyone and their dog has debated it to death.

Hopefully their hormones balance out in time for the start of the season.

Saw this post on Reddit and it sums up my own thoughts, so sharing it here:

This is what gets me though. Where did he ever say he 'loved' Celtic? He's very selective when it comes to the words he uses - the problem here is a lot of people are very selective in what they hear
    .

He never said he loved Celtic. He said he followed Celtic as a child in Northern Ireland. As did everyone of his genealogy. He said Paul Elliot was his favourite player. He spoke about the tradition of Stein & Burns built on the foundation of the club by Bother Walfrid.

This is all stuff he knew as a Celtic supporter growing up in Northern Ireland. It's unquestionable that he supported Celtic as a child and that he was influenced by Celtic's tradition. This is at least basic sociology.

Now here's the crux - he became an elite level football coach. Where as me and you spend our weekends watching Celtic he spent his coaching football. He worked his way to the top of the game and low and behold he got the manager's job at Celtic. A child's dream come true.

But then to expect the child who supported Celtic to dictate the world class coach's career trajectory is bat * insane. To think a guy operating at that level is motivated like a supporter is naive at best, pathetic at worst.

Disappointed to see the GB react in that way, but they’re entitled to their opinion. I don’t think it’s one that will be shared by the majority of fans, and I imagine they’ll soon change their tune too.

This genuinely sums it up for me.

They've been clamped there. It's never been as black and white as people claim.

Trouble with their tweet, reiterating that message appears to offer the manager no route to redemption. “Never a Celt/always a fraud.”

They had a plethora of choices on how to vent their feelings and instead of a message conveying there is still sense of mistrust, they instead nailed their flag to the mast with little scope to back-peddle - I’d say that was idiotic.

I guess when they’re bouncing around in the corner when we’re scoring goals it’ll be for the players only, either that or we can expect a few thousand dour looking fans.

Think "Colin Robinson" hit the nail on the head. At the end of the day, it's done. It's been clear it was happening for about 3 or 4 days now, the time to protest was then, when it could still be stopped. At this point, all it can achieve is division. We don't need to sing his name or even forgive him to get behind the team.

If you look at it from a purely football angle, he's probably the best coach the board could have realistically even tried to get and they got him. The glass is half full here if we don't screw it up with infighting. Even a successful protest (which is very unlikely!) would just see us having to buy out his lucrative 3-year contract for zero benefit and then in all likelihood replacing him with a less talented coach.

On the other side of it, Brendan needs to know that he has to knock the nonsense on the head while he's here.
