Looks to me like there has been an irreparable breakdown. Rodgers ain't coming out with comments like that lightly, I'd say the damage is already done and he's gone end of the season at the very latest.

Honestly if that's the case we'd all, him included, be better off if he ended it now. I cannot be * with a half-arsed, going through the motions kind of season, it's soul destroying.

Just get together and make a decision ffs, now is not the time for all this public expose *.

No way he comes back to this.

He knows them like Rodgers does.

You wonder if its Lawwell and Rodgers that have the friction.. bad blood from last time around.

Rodgers never mentions him, only refers to Nicholson and DD

Might be a last throw of the dice for him. See if anything changes.

If not then yeah best if he just went. My only issue is who of any decent stature would want the job after BR has left twice due to lack of investment/ambition?

I never wanted to believe it in the past when Lawwell came back, but now it is beyond coincidence that even though he isn't CEO, hes clearly putting his nose into all the inner workings of the clubs day to day just like he used to because the vibe and the operating of the club is too much like how it used to be when he was CEO.

He needs ousting of the club in all capacities and we need a CEO that was willing to be different albeit, different, for longer than 5 minutes that McKay was

Interesting that you mention it. I have also paid attention to that for a long time. He clearly ignores him.

Well we now know that the weeks of inaction was not strategic transfer market work anyway and is due to a rift between boardroom and manager expectations.

All very unnecessary and a ball ache to have to sit through it again.

Would be very surprised if he's using it as a bargaining tactic, public criticism of your employers is surely only for getting ahead of the game when the fall out comes out. Making sure you get your story out first sort of thing.

As for a replacement, I don't keep tabs on stats and up and coming talents etc, so would have no idea. But we have been good in that department recently after the Lenny idea went * up. Howe, Maresca, Ange among others were guys we were talking to. Am sure there'd be backing for a manager they've actually chased themselves, as opposed to hesitating with a guy they are at odds with.

    His comments are * terrifying.

Nothing 95% of people didn’t know already, but frightening to actually hear him say it.

Needing our vastly experienced, successful manager to “convince” the old decrepit * on the board stuck in the early 90s to spend a fraction of the record multimillions we have sitting doing * all but becoming to victim to inflation.

    Genuinely depressing stuff.

    It definitely is.

Its no surprise things slow down and go * up when he's there and his son previously.

Rodgers will stay till the end of the season, have no doubt in him that he wants to keep his word, Our Board need to wake up and realise that He is probably the best calibre of manager that We can attract and that no manager with a well known pedigree will even think about taking the job under the current circumstances, think some on the Board hope that Maloney or Kennedy will be next in line to take over as manager, they know though that the supporters will not tolerate that.

Said it earlier but this concerns me far beyond this season. If this is how they are operating with our most successful modern day manager who's as qualified as we can reasonably afford, not to mention "knows the club" and "the city" and is "pals" with Desmond, what hope does the next unlucky * have.

Can't help but think they'll just go back to another puppet in future to keep the status quo.

They're gonna be in for a shock.

Aberdeen, Hearts and even Hibs all look like having a more modern set up football and recruitment wise than us nowadays. Albeit on much smaller budgets. Riddy.

Given their previous, and size of both of their egos, I'd he amazed if they even speak to each other.

He done extremely well in his first season taking over with Ange. Money was spent last season but at the end of the window again. I think it was panic buys again not all down to Rodgers either.

They just don’t * change! Well under Ange they did a bit but now it’s gone to * again.

You wonder what it is that they talk about when they have these meetings.

At a really basic level you would think they discuss transfer budgets and recruitment and have some sort of actual understanding of what's available to spend.

You hear Rodgers has a meeting with them. You assume they are in contact regularly enough. But you then spend weeks of listening and reading these interviews from the manager where he sounds like hes has no better understanding of whats going on than the average fan.

I do too, I think if they backed him with the players he’s wanted he would stay.

It’s going to be a carbon copy of his last season, but we will have a stronger zombie side and we could end up handing them a title.

Aye he'll see out his 3 years bcoz he wants to keep his word to the supporters.
He knows he * up last time with the way he left although his reasons were probably pretty clear. So he came back to repair his legacy and his standing with the fans.

When his time is up I'd love it if he didn't go for the non disclosure agreement we always see nowadays. Come out and tell us what we all know, throw the board under the bus and expose them for what they are and he wouldn't just repair his legacy, he would enhance it.
