He won't sign a new contract unless he get's the required backing this summer, the Board have a decision to make, hopefully it's the right one, success can never be taken for granted.

He won't even with backing. He said 3 years, that's all he will do imo.

It feels like he will need to make his intentions know pretty soon if he wants the board to back him to the extent he seems to be demanding. I can't see the board allowing him to splash the cash over the summer if they expect he's gone by the end of next season.

That's my worry also, the future after BR could look pretty fecking scary imo. Hopefully he signs on for another 3 year and gets backed appropriately for doing it.

Not entirely sure if this is the correct thread or time to put up this message….

Firstly Rodgers needs huge credit for re-establishing domestic dominance and for ‘his’ sides CL progress this season.

And aside from styles of play, my big thoughts are…
have ‘his’ more expensive signings really been significantly better than Ange’s when he was with us?

He deserves most credit for Schmeichel who was free. Trusty hasn't offered much more than we already had, Engels has promise but not close to a 10m player yet, and Idah has flopped. So judged on big signings, Ange done better.

That said, I also think Rodgers does a great job getting a tune from players he already has in his squad. We shouldn't take for granted how he seems to get good but not brilliant players maxing out what they are capable of so often.
