The media played him like a fiddle today, just kept asking softball questions about his remarks and then let him take it from there which he did.

And yet we've scored 55 in 20 league games.

Agreed. He's a clever, articulate guy, who doesn't speak outta turn, or unnecessarily. He always gets his message across well and can handle the shitshow that is the media in Scotland.

After the diabolical performance against the huns, he handled it well in his interviews. I've no doubt he had sterner words behind closed doors to the players.

So why turn on our own fans, who weren't at that game and no doubt he heard the * bile coming from the mutants for a hundred mins, whilst one of his own players was struck by a coin.

Why go after your own fans, who take nothing from the club after a win, where the form and tempo is dropping again.

Why create something from nothing?? And he got it absolutely wrong with Taylor as well. No malice against him, but singing for a guy that HE WANTS to replace Taylor with, and is loved by a lot of the fans. No sense in that rant at all.

Aye it may be a storm in a tea cup or whatever. But he started this 'bush fire' for reasons only apparently to him. So he needs to extinguish it and he hasn't really.

If he's in a huff cause of the huns game, manifest it in the right way. And * get us that title pronto and right the wrong on March 15th.

But less of the petty, poor timed nonsense in the meantime.

Think it shows why there's a shelf life for most celtic managers.

He's normally pretty measured in his conferences but has went a bit rogue and its already costing him and derailed some good feeling he had.

Whether you agree with what he's said or not it highlights the scale of this job and the pressure it puts on you when things like this can escalate during a season where you've lost only once and already secured a trophy.

I don't agree with what he's said about Taylor. Bit think he's within his rights to mention the patience from the fans etc.

I more think in general that there's been an overreaction from some fans making conspiracy theories about him wanting to leave, showing his true colours, loving Swansea more etc. Its all just snowballing.

I do think it's a bit strange timing wise. But could link it with the Huns loss and him feeling a bit *...and he'd already bitten back to the media about his style of play the other week actually.

I mean you can throw whatever stat you like at it. Scored plenty last season too playing pretty rank football for most of it.

Aye well daft conspiracy theories are just that so you'd be right in calling those an overreaction.

Hopefully a good win tomorrow night and this can be forgotten about.

This should have been put to bed. If asked today regarding his comments previously he should have said the matter is over, closed, and we concentrate on the next game. The media will continue to seek any help for the huns they can get if it means making it seem everything isn't rosy at celtic park

I would disagree we played rank football for most of last season, no team can be great for a full season and will go through bad patches, which we did. We've improved this season though and when you see we have lost 2 competitive games in 2024 to complain that we pass the ball back every now and again seems to me to be pretty pish tbh.

We’ve played some brilliant football this season though, when he isn’t having to play the likes of Mikey Johnston, Turnbull and Yang on a regular basis. We’ve had a handful of games where we’ve been a bit sluggish and folk are carrying on like it’s been the theme for nearly all of the season.

Taken the pressure right off Taylor by making it clear he's not very good in the CL.

Wicked reverse psychology - master stroke :56:

Just to remove his comments for a second, the criticisms of our play dropping since the Leipzig game are massively OTT. The cup final being one people are massively picking up on despite it being a 50/50 outside Greg Taylor trying his best to * it up.

The huns game at Ibrox and Zagreb games weren't good enough, but other than them we've been largely excellent and comfortable in every other game.

19 goals in our last 5 domestic games at home is excellent. Wins away to Tynecastle, Pittodrie and Rugby Park too.

The press conference ran for 16min 42s. Over 14min spent playing up to the hun lickspittles in the SMSM. First up was Gordon Dunchun from Snyde. Also a few questions from Queef Jackshun. All Rodgers needed to say was that he had said everything on the matter after Sunday’s game but no it was all about his * ego and for the fans to toe the party line. Very naive from Rodgers. Helping the hun infested SMSM to stir the pot which was their objective all along. Ange had total disdain for the huns who call themselves “journalists” up here.

    Yep agree.

Again, mass overreaction. He shouldn't have came out and said it how he did bit I can understand if there's frustration from his side at any significant criticism.

We are allowed to comment on how the team is playing but I don't think it's AS bad as some are making out.

I've not really had to worry that much in any domestic game this season, last Thursday aside. And Europe we've been far more competitive. The fact there was mass moaning after a 0-0 away that we all felt we should have won, in europe(!) speaks for itself.

The cup final was a cup final. Again I'd say our fans have become spoilt and too used to just turning up in those.
