Today was abysmal, but since Leipzig we haven't been anywhere near as bad as some folk are making out. We won our previous two games 4-0. Draw against United was frustrating and our chance creation has dipped which is my main criticism. We were the better team in the cup final and deserved our win; a poor first half and coming back from 1-0 down to eventually win on penalties deserves credit, not criticism. Zagreb was disappointing as we all felt they were there for the taking, but I get the caution when we're away from home in the CL. Before that was a 3-0 win at Hibs where we were too open but still came away with a 3-0 win. Before that was a 1-0 win in horrendous conditions up at Pittodrie, a difficult away ground and before that was a 5-0 win away to Ross County. Brugge was a difficult match but again, we came back from 1-0 down against a difficult and well organised opponent which deserves credit. Before that we won away at Tynecastle and Rugby park fairly comfortably. Football isn't going to be smooth sailing where our game plan always works and we always perform well. A mid season dip happens pretty much every year, especially with so many games in a short period.

I get that fans are going to be angry against such a terrible performance against Rangers, and we deserved nothing from today. The pile on about our recent form needs more nuance and perspective than many are giving it.

I’d have changed it at half time, no going to lie. I wouldn’t have been able to make as much subs as I wanted however. I don’t think subs would have mattered today. We had a full outfield team that completely buckled. If your captain is hiding behind huns not wanting to receive the ball, it doesn’t bode well.

We haven’t good enough players to play the way he sets us up. Whether he sees that or not, who knows? Dropping Trusty for Scales is a total mindfuck tbh, don’t know what he’s thinking. Also, not being willing to make charges at HT is just nonsense.
There’s a lot of work to be done in January and in the summer if we want to go up a level.

We shouldn't be conceding 3 goals in consecutive games against them, so he needs to change things. The warning signs were there all game, but we continually gave them too much space and he waited too late.

Agreed. Valle and Trusty had to start.

Well, he has some leeway to experiment before the next derby. A clean sheet would be progress.

He really should’ve adjusted how we play coming into this game.

They have zero identity, they are setup to be 100% anti-Celtic. That’s why they lost 5 points in the week leading up to today.

But it’s dangerously arrogant to ignore that. If we just reacted a bit to what they are clearly doing every game we would win comfortably today.

I have the exact same feeling right now that I had after Dortmund. In both cases I thought Rodgers would make the obvious pragmatic adjustments to get a better result and in both cases he just blindly played into the oppositions hands to catastrophic effect.

I really despair with Rodgers sometimes..

The silver lining is it’s easy to fix the problems it’s just why do we need to go through these games before we do it?

Valle was much worse than Taylor was today. Taylor didn't put a foot wrong.

    That’s a good point.

The huns have been fairly * in attack this season. 6 goals against us in two games is * grim.

I was confused how they had so much space on Daizen's side consistently. The only reason I can think of is Brendan must have told him to remain further forward? Our best guy at pressing was anonymous at times

I agree with this. Had other mates screaming for Valle to come on when he hadn’t been the problem. Hes almost the go to scapegoat with some fans even if he hasn’t done anything wrong

I do like Valle, has potential, but he gets away with murder by virtue of not being Taylor.

Taylor was better than AJ today, which doesn't happen often.

The midfield was completely over run. It’s that simple.

Two many players in that team know they are getting a game no matter what. The team needs some fresh faces in Jan.

Usually after a poor result like this I feel like Taylor isn't usually the far from blame but today, that just wasn't the case.

Whilst in no way impressive at all, Taylor was perhaps one of the better in a bad bunch today.

Kuhn has been incredible this season but awful today, as was hatate and don't even get me started on scales!

Far too rigid in way we play - they put extra man into midfield and dominated - why not replicate?
The sticking with 2 wingers no matter what, when the game is all in the centre of the park, both wingers struggling and we are getting schooled in midfield?

Taking Kyogo off was a very poor decision, stick Idah on with him and leave 1 winger.

I get the 'give them the chance to put it right' approach to subs, but when it's so drastically going badly - you need to act and not wait until 6ons.
    * is with the 60mins anyway, surely what's happening drives subs not the clock?

Absolutely love Rodgers, but I think he has a good few things to think about if we want to truly improve - not only on the playing side.
A top drawer #6 is key priority.

    Really poor today.

I don't get why he's dropped trusty. An average 45 mins against the Huns aside, he's been excellent bar the BVB game. Weird.

Tbh I think we took them lightly, players and coaching staff thought they could just turn up and win which was obviously never going to be the case. And not making changes at half time was an absolute joke.

Ultimately I don’t think subs would’ve made much of a difference today because we were that bad, but stand back and watch that first half and think nothing needed to chance is just bizarre. Scales couldn’t pass the ball to anyone in a Celtic shirt and looked like he was going to cost a goal every time he touched it, and all 3 midfielders were absolutely * abysmal. Any of the 3 should’ve been off at half time and our shape changed slightly.

A massive January ahead because the squad clearly needs improved upon, and get Trusty back in the team ffs. Ridiculous he’s been bombed out for Scales again when he wasn’t even that bad in the cup final, certainly nowhere near as bad as scales was today.

He's been found out by Clement and he needs to adjust it quickly
