As much as I loved Ange, Rodgers organizes the way we press much better for us in Europe. There is more thought to it.

Amazing what he can do when you back him instead of giving him Yangs and Shveds.

Absolutely love that he's not happy with first half.
Talking about 3 touches instead of 2, sideways passes etc.
He's spot on, we clearly were too tentative and passive first half.
    2nd half, next level
    Continuous improvement, that's what's it's all about.

I actually thought we were quite good first half. Shows how cut throat he is that even though we should've been out of sight and still dominated all the ball that he likely went through them at half time..

It's obvious he did by how the front 3 turned it on alone. Brilliant second half performance and this guts really showing what a top class coach he still is..

Perfect start to the season so far. Liked his post match comments too, he's saying all the right things at the moment. I was a big critic last year, not one complaint this time around.

Really hope we give a good account of ourselves against the better teams. I'm really interested to see how he and the team adapts to Dortmund, Leipzig, Atalanta and Villa.

Probably the most efficient we’ve been in years in terms of pressing … there’s a bit more nuance to it than Anges system even, think it’ll really benefit us in Europe this year.

I’m confident we can actually do something in Europe this year, which will hopefully encourage the board to sign 1 Engels calibre of player over a few punts from now on. If we get 2 more wins he’s basically paid for himself :BR1:

Brendan Rodgers has revealed what he said to his Celtic stars at half-time to spark an inspirational second-half mauling of Slovan Bratislava.

The Hoops battered their opponents at Parkhead to walk away with a stunning 5-1 victory and win their first opening night Champions League game ever. There were five different goal scorers - Liam Scales, Kyogo, Arne Engels, Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah - but the game was still on a knife-edge at 1-0 when the whistle blew for the break.

Rodgers sat his players down and urged them to stay calm and play to their strengths by coming out firing - and within two minutes of the restart it was 2-0 and game essentially over

We were just a fraction slower on the ball than we'd have liked with three touches instead of two," Rodgers told TNT Sports. "The tempo was very good and still we were strong in the first-half. Then we just reiterated a couple of things at half-time and in the second-half? Wow.

The hunger, pressing, counter-pressing, mentality of the team, I was so proud. And the quality of the goal was sensational. You can see the young players at the level and the whole build up around Champions League and what that brings. They try and be a little bit safe, wee touch, pass. I just reiterated we don't have to do anything special, be us.

"Play our game, don't complicate the game. Just a couple things around positioning. Re-enforcing the good pressing elements

    He's matured a lot as a manager.

Firmly believe the manager we have now is superior in many ways to the first time around. Which should scare everyone domestically and hold us in good stead for some results in Europe.

Will have much harder games than tonight but I thjnk we will be fine.
