Called it ages ago. Doesn’t even hide it well.

Playing good football isn’t always the same thing as playing intelligent football. I think too many of our fans are obsessed with style over substance at times.

We’ll find out just how “bang on” Rodgers has this team, when we face stronger opposition that can test other aspects of our play. Seems pretty logical to say this. I never mentioned anything about taking credit away from domestic results.

If by "a smart one", you mean, someone that thinks they are intellectually superior to a group of Celtic supporters and can blend into their forum for a laugh, and not make them feel offended in the process - it really isn't going well mate.

To be fair mate I actually don't think there were many who were still upset about how he left. Plenty, myself included, who thought his football had gone stale since then and were worried about his record in the transfer market.

Anyway, he's showing me up big time now and I'm delighted; really falling in love with the veneered * again. He has us playing mouth watering football and has me as confident about the CL as I have been in the last 20 odd year. Long may it continue.

Oh my post isn't directed at anybody who was criticising his football or happy he left due to that, I think there was a lot of discontent between himself and the board during his third season with us, and it showed on field, and last season the football was horrendous up until March.

The guy I was quoting basically called him a snake and disingenuous, which is think is silly considering he came back to us and has committed himself to another 2 years at minimum. If our form falls off a cliff and he gets sacked, the worst people should be calling him is * or overrated, but the Rat and Snake patter needs well left in the past.

Even I think you're too pessimistic here. I have no doubt that 1 or more of Dortmund, Leipzig, Villa and Atalanta are going to give us a painful result or two; but Zagreb, Young Boys and Brugge are peer competitors and we even ought to be slight favourites at home to Bratislava. I'm looking forward to these games like I haven't looked forward to any CL games in a very long time.

Smart enough not to lose my *, simply because someone holds a different opinion to my own, or views things in a different way. Football fans very often display classic herd type behaviours.

Lol, you really do enjoy twisting things. Aye and let us guess - you're so individual? :87: I wonder why that would be. . .

    Keep the faith, HH.

You didn't need to say anything. It's clear from your posts.

"We will see what happens when we play some decent teams in Europe"

How is that not diminishing domestic results? You're clearly insinuating that the football we are playing atm doesn't really matter because of the opposition.

How is the football we are playing not intelligent either? I'd love to know your tactical thoughts.

Strange timing for Mr Bateman to appear on here out of the blue and attempt to put a brown brogue through the feel good around our club right now. Did we just horse sevco a matter of days ago. Hmmm, I wonder.

Yup! Every day when I log on here I'm BLOWN AWAY by how much everyone just agrees with each other on every matter, with no discourse and difference of opinion at all... :fear:

I agree with Patrick - we learned nothing from skelping the club formerly known as rangers - they are so dreadful that we could've played our kids and won. The quick passing moves and slick interplay was executed against mannequins in blue tops - genuine raffle winner footballers. We will get a significant step up in opponent when we play a proper team like Aberdeen or Slovan Bratislava.

Gotcha :50: Aye, the snake and rat patter is atrocious. It definitely took big baws coming back last year and he had to handle a lot of * over his first 6 months or so. Big turning point was the Hearts match at Tynecastle - ever since then he's been like a different man. Got everyone (Bateman excepting) on side and has us playing sensational football.
