We'd definitely compete, well depending who was running us..

It would take a few seasons but with our size we'd definitely get there.. although a few bad decisions and you can end up in the Championship ..

That’s without their * TV deal. Embarrassing to even assume we would get our * handed to us by the likes of Luton and Burnley.

 

Totally. Just coz they pay 20million for over inflated * doesn't meant they are that good.

 

I think what you guys are missing here is that we're not a very good team this season.

I'm not saying Luton and Burnley are worldbeaters (they clearly aren't); I'm saying they're a lot better than us. I'd bet that almost all teams in the top 4 leagues are considerably better than us this season. We can argue about our last decent team (Ange's team from the first half of his second season? Probably. Lenny's 19/20 team that won its Europa league group? Yeah, maybe. Rodgers' 16/17 team? I'd say so. I'm sure they could have beaten the likes of Luton or Burnley. Lenny's 12/13 team that reached the last 16? Definitely!); but I don't see how anyone can argue that the current team is a good team. It's not even a decent team. It's basically 5 good players dragging some poor to mediocre players along.

So yeah, I stand by what I said. They'd wipe the floor with us. They have better players.

 

I understand where you're coming from here, mate, really, but I think you're blinded by the EPL glamour a wee bit. Let me ask you: Do you think they'd wipe the floor with Feyenoord? or Lazio? Because we gave as good as we got off both those sides. We're not as good as we have been in the past, but to suggest teams like Luton or Burnely would wipe the floor with us is mental. We'd be favourites against either of those sides and rightly so. Doesn't mean we'd wipe the floor with them either, but the gulf is nothing like you suggest.

I may be getting mixed up, and you've always been that way, but I'm certain you used to be someone who's posts I enjoyed reading. Now it seems like you just love to be a * at any and every opportunity you get.

As much as he’s a * *, has really came to the fore and been at his egomaniac and narcissistic best the last 2 months.

don’t think it can be understated how much himself and Cal Mac kept the composure in the dressing room. My head was gone in February.

 

I've had this argument endlessly living down here and when you make this point generally the smug EPL boys shut up. We compete in Euro comps on a shoe string and sell 55k season tickets to play Livi and Ross County - imagine how we'd fair with £200m+ every year and every other game being a sell out at Parkhead? We'd be a massive threat.

 

Well...knowing us..we'd probably buy a few Chinese projects but have over £300m in the bank... just in case we didn't qualify for the CL!

 

I don't think Rodgers was meaning a top 6 impact immediately..

And tbf to @Random Review this team would struggle, if it were now..

Teams generally sit v us, which makes for a totally different game that we see in the EPL.. sometimes if you switch to the EPL after one of our games its like a different sport..

Some of the players in the EPL, are so fast strong and skilful.. a lot of our players would definitely struggle.. that's just a fact..
