Funnily enough the things our team are probably still a bit light on are the things he said when unveiled, pace and power.

If we added some pace and strength to left back, left centre back and left wing, probably centre midfield too we have a good team. However the reality is we will lose O’Riley, Hart and possibly one or two others. So then it’s a bigger job again.

We also have some amount of players to shift -

    Siegrist
    Bernabei (permanently)
    Lagerbielke
    Kobayashi
    Shaw
    McCarthy (just pay him off)
    Haksabanovic
    M Johnston

    then there’s question marks on

    Kwon
    Tilio
    Holm
    Yang
    Oh
Scales (if doesn’t sign new deal so we take advantage of getting a couple million on the back of a decent season).

It’s likely we have a big turnover again this summer, if we can win the league and secure certainty of CL football and what comes with it should, (emphasis on should!), help with that.

Look at his presence and demeanour during the nitty gritty..

Forget what's gone before during the season, this is a man who knows and is relishing the big games. He knows what it takes and how to deliver..

Contrast and compare that to the hun * in charge of them who looks rattled to * and I think Rodgers has done that to him/them as well..

They know they've * it and don't have an answer..

Nah - first half of the seaon he wen't missing.

He's been good recently but that did it for me. Not giving a * at the start isn't made up at the end. If there is a reason for it then fine, but not heard a peep about it. Rodgers didn't turn anything around. The quality of the squad did.

    * - they are better than years gone by, but they are still pish.

He's no faultless but you have to take in to account the lack of backing hes received over 2 windows..

Look at the lineups we were churning out in Europe and domestically for much of it. I know domestically we should've been better and home and hosed long ago but he's been handicapped by some pish squads to choose from and large spells, our best players out for lengthy periods, no settled back lines, no creativity from the wings, our mist energetic and quality okqyer in the middle goosed almost all season and zero help in the market..

He's shown his worth down the stretch when he might have crumbled and you can see it in the players in the main..

Maybe had it too easy first half of the season also but we're looking much like our normal selves now and for a wee while actually that's been the case..

    You've changed your tune :56:

Honestly don't accept any of that. Been having the same debate with @murphy88 and @Random Review and if anyone think Rodgers has been dealt a short hand as opposed to Ange, Strachan, O'Neill, Rodgers himself then naw, not true.

Was quite grateful when he left last time as football was dire at the end. Not his biggest fan, and not seen too much reason yet to be. * we are so much better than that lot, right from the start of the season.

    In Brendan we trust :BR1:

Let's just enjoy how it's unfolding, whilst I go through the thread and delete about 50 posts :BR1:

He has been dealt a bad hand by the boards failure to back him though. Don't really think that can be argued look at the 2 windows..

Absolutely nailed it. Our manager has shown in the last few weeks why we paid top dollar for him to come back. Hes never panicked and he’s put the foot down on the gas at the right time. Hes given the speech and rallied the fans and team. He also laid the gauntlet down to the Huns to see what they’re made of and it’s clearly had an effect on them. He deserves maximum credit for his entire approach.

He lives rent free in the heads of their fans, players, staff and board members. They’re utterly terrified of him and if he can see this through now, we’ll hopefully back him properly and then go and put a huge gap between us and them

I’m not sure how you can’t accept it mate. It’s undeniable that some of the teams we were having to put out in the first half of the season were rank rotten. The fact is, if you had taken CCV, Hatate, Maeda and Abada out Ange’s team, we would have struggled. They 4 have missed huge chunks of the season. Coupled with Mark Lawwell being worse then useless, there’s undoubtedly been mitigating circumstances for our dip. We just need to get over the line now. Then actually back Rodgers in the summer.

We did take them out, at the back end of last season when we picked up 5 points from our final 5 games. (W1, D2, L2)

Accept what? Rodgers being the manager for the whole of last summer and then did little to nothing in the first 3/4 months of the season, or misused the 2 transfer windows he's had?

Ange's team started without all of the players you mention, and much more, and still managed to win the double. That's the standard. Lowering it, or excusing why the best funded, best equipiped club in Scotland gets worse is what I object to. Accepting this sort of * is why we don't get to the place we should be. You want mediocrity for ever? That's what you are asking for.

Fans accepting the transfer window last summer is what will drive this club to mediocrity. That’s not on Rodgers. That’s on our board. Trying to then flip it to blame Rodgers when the problems are deeper than the manager are part of the problem as well. This board need to wake the * up and properly back Rodgers. He achieved more points than Ange in Europe with a far worse team. Give him the best possible chance to take us forward. We’ve not done that.

Ange’s team struggled without the 4 players mentioned.

Spot on, I've said all season that I'm not gonna judge BR too harshly until after a transfer window when he's been properly backed. Was as gutted as most when he left and left very bitter taste but * it, lifes too short to stress on * like that. I'm behind him until at least after the summer window.

:56::56::56:- seriously - is that the bar?

Rodgers was in charge over the first transfer window. STOP.
There might need to be more spend, greater ambition, but anyone accepting that was somehow missed at the point where Rodgers signed and agreed to be our manager is deluded. Is that not why Rodgers was the perfect appointment, because he knew all of this already?

The man has been a serial winner for this football club and he has experienced players in his dressing room that are in the same camp (for even longer). The main question is how does he find the right profile of player that is comfortable to take up the mantle when they move on?
