Brendan Rodgers is adamant Celtic still have the title race in their own hands - despite a two point gap with Rangers ahead.

The Hoops have slipped up against the likes of Hearts and Kilmarnock more than once this campaign and chucked away a seven point lead they held at the top of the Premiership to allow Gers to muscle their way back in. For Rodgers it's all about ensuring his team bounce back without their eyes on the spot above.

The manager insists his side can still win what they set out to at the beginning of the campaign if they keep their head down because there's no way to control what any other side, namely the Light Blues, can do with their remaining games this term.

It's getting back to making sure we focus on ourselves because we can't control anything that Rangers any other team does. I've said it all season we can only focus on our own team performance," Rodgers said.

We're not top of the league because of ourselves and the points we've dropped but we have to learn from that and be focused on our own performance. That's what the next 12 games will be because it's still in our hands what it is we achieve this season so we have to focus on that.

We've had eight wins and two draws which probably feels like eight losses and two draws. There's still been a lot of good in the games it's just when the result disappoints and the performance disappoints, then it doesn't give you a good feeling

Other than "I resign" what would you like him to say? It's platitudes sure but not sure there's much wrong with what he said.

Take some form of responsibility whilst acknowledging we've been miles off it

I'd say he acknowledged that to an extent, but he's never going to come out and slam the team. Guys a * but doing that sort of things never going to help.

They were still sold though, weakening the team. It caught up with them in the end. A bit like it has here to be honest. He should be getting a bit more out the players we have, but we have undoubtedly weakened the team and it’s caught up with us, with a mix of pish recruitment and lack of investment. Some of the starting elevens this season have been not dissimilar to what you’d expect for a testimonial or pre-season friendly game. Some of the benches, even in must win European ties were a disgrace.

Without context 8 wins and 2 draws is pretty decent, but like others have said we’ve seen these 10 games, scraped results and bored the * off us.

Genuinely I know we have to do these press conferences but they should be say the minimum and start to take actions that speak for what we are going to do to sort out this mess.

Rodgers can sit up there and play the almost hard done by card all he wants but how long are we going to hear it’s in our hands and xx games to go. We don’t sort ourselves out it won’t be long until it’s out of our hands!

8 wins and two draws in the SPL, is 8 wins and two defeats.

Wonder how Rodgers feels now that the media are reporting that some fans want MON back.

Is he maybe feeling like the players felt when he was bumping his gums about wanting quality.

Well we want quality from the manager, and you haven't got it, so * off.
