Good to hear him speak about Nicholson and lawell and mention how good the recruitment team is and how he notices a change. Exciting times ahead

 

He looks younger than he did in 2016.

Just listening to him there and seeing him back at celtic park is surreal!

Feeling good after hearing that interview hope all the panty wetters questioning his recruitment watched that and see how much he mentions the way we’ve changed our structure in that area. So it’s not all on him and trust the recruitment guys we have in place

 

Thought it was an honest enough interview wi no fluff. Highlighted how he wanted key folk to be there. The improvement of structure in terms of scouting etc and wanted to continue the domestic success but make advances in Europe. Has a good relationship wi Calmac. Happy enough with that.

Be interesting when the * hacks have a go at him tomorrow though.

If Calmac was unhappy with Rodgers for how he left he would have told the board. The captain wants to work with the manager which is important.If he can accept what happened then I'll accept it.
He will get questioned on leaving, no point pretending otherwise. He just needs to acknowledge what happened and say he understands why some were not happy.

The board know the mood and suspicions around him and will have made sure the right questions are asked and the right answers are given.

Getting the team winning well from the off is all I need to see or hear.

Yes, I was happy with that one. I'll be honest, the little 5-minute one was a lot worse than I expected; but equally this was a lot better than I expected. He said everything I wanted to hear.

Lots of good little details too. For example, daft though it may sound, I really liked that "...or whatever competition we end up in." Good! We're unlikely to get second in the CL groups currently (although I want to see us build up to that!) but I think we should be targeting 3rd as a realistic goal. Frankly, with the group we got last time, not getting 3rd last year was a real failure on Ange's part IMO. Of course a lot will depend on the draw, but we have to see 3rd a realistic goal. Then a good run in the EL, that also has to be a realistic goal. I think winning the EL is currently less of a feat than getting second in some of the harder CL groups. Obviously, I don't think we'd be one of the favourites to win the EL, but I don't think it's impossible. I want Rodgers to be thinking about how to give us a chance of doing that and it seems that he is.

 

He quite rightly has a slight pop at the board with regards the scouting overhaul since he was last here I also like the fact he didn't name check Peter Lawwell at any point.
