I agree with you but also in fairness to Rodgers the drop off from our best XI to the bench is absolutely huge we managed to get rid of some deadwood but have signed more to replace it

 

Mate, Giakoumakis was clearly not happy at being sub but still came on and did the business.

Feels like one step forward, one step back.

 

I think both Oh and Iwata should have had more gametime, but neither are the answer and the rest of the squad depth is horrendous.

Guys like M Johnston, Forrest, Bernabei, Turnbull, Yang and Hyeok, that's horrific

 

He done really well last season and I think he's a good quality player.

He's barely played at all this season, Ange was giving him 30 minutes every game and started him 3 times. Rodgers has played him about 1 hour all season and completely snubbed him numerous times. I mind a home game a few weeks ago we were 2-0 up at HT I think and he could have brought him on at HT with the game won and I think he brought him on in the 88th minute.

Basically telling a guy "im not giving you a game".

 

Frustrating for everyone today, he needs backed in January as the squad lacks depth in quality..

Still, when you look at the away games we've had you'd take that...

Days like these hapoen to virtually every Celtic team and manager after an exhilarating CL midweek..

 

Lets not pretend if Rodgers had his choice of 25 players he personally signed he wouldn't still just play the same 11 most games. It's who he his, his squad management is abysmal

 

Agreed. It's hardly fatal but we shouldn't be under any illusions either. We are worse than last season and January is unlikely to see that properly rectified. Aren't we losing a few to the Asian cup?

 

I'm not sure about that.

When he has quality throughout I think he uses his squad well.

He managed us to an Invincible Treble by making the best use of his squad.

 

Definitely a case of poor squad management from him today. There are talented players there who are simply not playing enough, getting thrown in with zero confidence.

He really needs to start utilising the squad more than he has been.

 

Rodgers' use of the squad has been very frustrating at times, I agree. The bench is more often than not underwhelming, but some of his decisions are baffling.

 

He said he'd use the players the club provided him with- it was during the pre-season. That's a rod for his own back. Quality players or not, he said it, and didn't complain about the players he got. Yes, the transfer window was *.

But play your bench warmers every so often- it at least helps the main team rest.

 

Poor management from Rodger’s today. Why bring on Forrest and not Yang?
Why bring on Turnbull and not Iwata?
The squad depth is poor. Need a few players brought in and not projects.

 

You can tell he is clearly snubbing guys to make a point, rather than try to get the best out what he has.

Even the game the other night, he had to make 3 subs with the last sub as the team were dead and he snubbed Oh and Iwata or Yang or even Turnbull or Ralston to only use Forrest in a game * were knackered from about the 60th minute.

 

He needed to freshen up the first 11 today. Our squad players should still be good enough to beat a poor Hibs team. Are the squad players that poor?

 

Nice and calm, spoke of a lack of energy and being too slow. Can't argue with any of it.

Few days of hard work and make sure we turn up on Wednesday.

 

We're still 5 points in front tomorrow (we all know hearts wont win) Nae point in having a melt down as games like this happen. We lack strength and depth and as someone said he's sending a message to the board. We went from flying the other night to this leggy tired performance but we're still miles ahead when on form. We just can't keep turning to the same group of players time and time again. As for the ones some have said aren't getting a chance well maybe they're just not showing anything in training.

 

Aye his subs are pretty brutal mate, I was in disbelief at how poor they were the other night. Today was the same.

What shocked me even more is people saying they thought he managed the game well vs Atletico. Didn't know poor substitutions meant good game management.

Has to start utilising the squad better for me. There seems to be no consistency or method to his selections off the bench.
