I didn't want him back because I thought the football under him was * for at least the last 18 months of his first stint but we seem to be getting a combination of the best of Rodgers combined with the best of Ange (maybe Kennedy's influence + the players). Long may it continue. And I think we'll get better.

 

Bit * pulling up a quote from back then tbh. I didn't agree with what he said back then, but I was also raging when we didn't get EH and ended up with AP....

What he said at the time was the only folk who don't want Rodgers back were something like stupid/retarted or huns. I never said I didn't think Rodgers wouldn't be succesfull, however this is way beyond this * simpleton.

 

I thought it was mental that a lot of people seemed to think that Rodgers wasn't a good manager anymore (not saying you, mate); but I also think it's a bit foolish to forgive so soon just because he's doing a good job.

He's still Brendan Rodgers, both in the sense of being an outstanding coach and in the sense of being a bullshitter. He showed a lot of cojones in coming back and he's done quite well dialling the nonsense back a bit, but he'll need to keep it up for a couple of seasons to earn back my trust.

Know what I love about this spell this time around? There's no shouting from the rooftops from him. There's no double page spreads about being a Celtic supporter all his life. Nothing about what he's going to do and how he's going to build some sort of dynasty.

He's got his feet under the table, kept pretty low-key, and quietly started bossing Scottish football again. And when absolutely everyone around him has been waiting on him to fail.

Amazing manager. He's going to do some more incredible things in this spell in charge.

 

Looks like we're starting to properly click now, after a bit of transition from Ange's style being drilled into the team at the start of the season, which was to be expected I guess, think we'll see a few players like O'Riley has been really flourish being able to play with a bit more freedom .
