Aye, I'd be utterly fuming if I was him.

We played good tonight, but he's obviously adjusted his system on the left to suit Taylor, and it's leaving so many gaps in the back. If we tell Taylor to play Rodgers normal system he's beyond useless.

So frustrating.

 

Bringing CCV on for Phillips was a bad mistake imo.

 

I thought he got everything right tonight to be honest except I would’ve had Iwata on towards the end and I don’t think we concede late on.

 

Just once I'd like us to attack without it having to go through the full back 4

 

Phillips looked fine to me, he’d not really put a foot wrong. Wouldn’t be a fan of changing the back four in such a tight game tbh unless it’s a last resort.

And it was a bad mistake from Vickers, one that he wouldn’t make if he was match fit.

 

2 CL games in a row now I felt he got the setup right tbf. It's the lack of real quality in certain areas that is killing us at this level.

 

This for me and by miles..

Showed twice at this level that he's more than good enough but he's doing it with his hands tied..

We actually look much better set up this season than we have in years but the lack of quality in the squad is killing us. Toothless going forward. Even during the spells we were on top tonight I think you’d be hard pushed to say lazio ever looked anything other than comfortable.

 

I do agree with you but would say that we need a bit more urgency. We created very few chances.

Concerning the players quality. I still can't understand how he could agree to come back without securities that he gets quality players in. He knew the board. He walked because of them and now already early in his second stint they behave the same way. How can such an ambitious man be so naive? I just don't get it.

 

He made a tough call in playing Yang who disappointed in my opinion.

In recent weeks Palmas performances merited a start. Think Rodgers was just playing up to promises made in transfer conversations.

 

Deep down he’ll be second guessing himself if he made the wrong call coming back.

Set us up well again, played through the lines brilliantly at times, then you’ve got Yang losing the ball any time he’s got it and Maeda tripping over his own two feet.

He’s been * over a belter.

 

Phillips looked OK, didn't seem to be struggling. A few people have pointed out that he was on a yellow but you can't be so pessimistic as to hook him in case he gets another(unless the player is being particularly rash or hot-headed). If it ain't broke etc

 

His tactics were spot on tonight but the players surrendered and * it

 

Early days in his tenure, but please back him properly in the upcoming windows..

Done fine so far, with what he's got.

 

Do you think he makes that mistake if he’s match fit though? I couldn’t see it. Players who haven’t played are always far more at risk of making mistakes like that.

 

That's all it is mate..

He's shown real signs of what he's learned being away and coming back. Got the balance in these games almost spot on but hasn't been fully backed..

I've got a lot of faith in him from what he's managed to do with the players at his disposal so far..
